Not your regular tranny swap.

Hello all. I am a new member here and I need all you guys help for my tranny swap. I own a mitsubushi starion/conquest. I have informed that your model R trannies could actually be swapped into my car and the turbo 2 tranny is stronger than the mitsu.

I was also told the the series 5 is the strongest. Is this true?

To make this work there is a special bell housing that I will need to use. It is the one that bolts to your wide block B2600 motor. Apparently they were only available between 1987 and 88. I will post a link with more info.

i know what this works with the wideblock 4663 but im not not sure about the factory StarQuest motor.

So thats where all our dang transmissions are going!! lol.

Just kidding. Nice writeup from that guy. Now thats what I call dedicated research.

You are correct. Also the stock starion tranny bolts up to the wide block 4g63 so it is like they are the same. So yes it will bolt up. Read the link as well to get a better idea of what I am talking about. Thanks

lol I wish many of us had your trannies so we can make a bigger splash in the performance pond. That b2600 bell housing is the key though. I need you guys familiarity and experience with these trannies and bell housings. Please chime in all who can help.

never heard of that swap but for some cliff notes i can add in here:

1) there is no type R transmission, i would probably shoot myself if there was a designation like that on a seven
2) S4 and S5 T2 trannies are one in the same with few differences
3) T2 trannies can hold up to 500RWHP so that should be more than enough for your application
