NOS question
 

I'm interested in knowing how much NOS is safe for an '89 N/A engine , 20,000 miles since rebuild all original exc. the apex seal that are RB carbon(2mm). The engine has the exhaust ported. Has original injectors, NO AFC or chip. Intake has a bonez.

another this is, it should be a plate version or you recomend something else?

What is a wet system in NOS?

well... you couldnt' get a plate system.. cause you don't have a corbourator (sp?) you'd probably want a wet kit, wet kits are where it mixes the N2O and the extra gasoline together before entering the engine, dry systems use the stock fuel injectors and inject the N2O into the air intake basically, you'd deffinately want to upgrade youre FI if you're gonna do a dry kit

but wet is better, you dont 'have to worry abotu FI failure and still having N2O in the engine and blowing up and stuff..

I was wondering the same thing. Does anyone have nitrous on their FC that can give some input?

were can I find a company that manufacture the wet system? How many HPs will be safe for the engine? :)

Lightningmotorsports.com has a kit. Says for all FI rx7s. Might want to contact them. I was interested in it as well as soon as I get my car goin.

I'm not sure I heard a 50 shot and under would be fine as long as the engine is in good shape & you don't overuse it. Making sure the engine is a definite. Get a compression test first before this is an option.

Check out his link it has a good explaination of what wet and dry sytems are and which should be used on what application. I think that a dry kit would be better for a na rx7.

It would seem that if you changed the secondaries from 480 to 550 or 880 or something that you would have sort of a combo dry/port system.

I have a turbo 2 and I am using a wet 50 shot. I choose wet because rx7's always have fuel problems, not enough fuel will cause you another engine. You can use it a long as you upgrade your fuel pump(I personally recommend the 300zx tt fp) and purchase a ful pressure regulator. Your fuel pressure will drop once the nitrous kicks in, so you will need to upgrade these coomponents. You can start with a smaller shot like a 25 or 35 on stock components if you have a turbo. Though nitrous is not recommended by most owners, there are those who use in abundance.

How do you like your nos set up< any problems? would you recomend using nos for our rotaries?

My friend has an 89 N/A and is claiming running a 100 shot right now, but he says he is having problems with detonation and running at low pressure....I don't think he upgraded his fuel system though.
