Normal oil pressure at idle?

Hey guys, I have noticed my oil pressure acting a little funky
I have an 87 n/a bone stock except exhaust.

here's the thing, my oil pressure reads low at idle (below the 30 mark)
when I rev to 3k it goes up to right around 60psi (or above) just like it should.

running 20w-50 castrol gtx with a wix filter

I recently swapped the motor into a new shell, but that was months ago and, it has been running fine since

do I have a wonky gauge, or does it sound like a more serious issue?

Thanks,

-Miles

Sounds pretty normal to me. :)
Also, I don't trust the stock oil pressure gauge/sensor much..

I've compared my stock (S5) gauge with an aftermarket (VDO) oil pressure gauge and they track very closely, the difference being the heavy dampening of the stocker (it doesn't react as quickly).
Gauges rarely fail in my experience but the sensors- being mechanical devices- do wear out.
I'd replace the stock sensor and see what happens.

That sounds a touch low to me for 20W50... I run 5W30 in mine (its canada eh!) and I have a warm oil pressure of just above 2kg/cm (30psi), with it falling to just under the line after some spirited driving (a couple auto-x runs in hot weather).

Maybe it is related at all to the thermal pellet in the e-shaft?

i need to get a new oil sender sensor. mine is stuck at 0 at idle and 30 at 3k verified high pressure with my shop gauge
