no cat = no air pump?
i bought my car with the cat replaced by a 2.5 inch straight pipe. i also have the regular air pump on my engine. is my airpump even doing anything with no cat? i thought that all they did was pump fresh air into the cat to keep them from frying... can i just take it out with no problem? if so what do i need to take the shit out? i'd love to have the little bit of extra room under there from taking that air pump out. also, what do i need to do besides drain the lines to take my AC out?(its 134a) i never use it so its just taking up space under there.

yeah dude, should i just take the sumbitch out of there and clear up some space in my engine bay? wouldnt i need to get a block off valve to put inplace of the airpump?

i guess a better question would be: can i remove off this air pump, take off the belt, and forget about the sumbitch? (the hose that goes to the cat is just hanging loose pumping air into the atmosphere)

yes you can remove the airpump and belt. it's 2 bolts. if you still have the stock air box you need to block off the hole in the airbox. when you remove the airpump there is a pipe behind it, pull it off and put a small filter on it. (goes to ACV)
