no battery indicator?

What would cause my battery to not display? it sounds really simple but i dont understand. the coolant gauge does not work either :(!

i have spark, car turns on fine. runs fine but i have no battery gauge in the cluster..

anyone??

Do you have a battery?

Did you check all your fuses?

The volt gauge does not work?

Probably a bad connection on the back of the instrument cluster. NOT the two large round plugs that connect to the cluster, but one of the many screw like connections on the circuit board of the instrument cluster.

Coolant gauge not working? Might have the elect plug off the sensor on the engine.

I read "no battery gauge" as his car not having a battery gauge installed.... don't the TII's have a boost gauge where the voltmeter goes in the NA models?

correct, the volt gauge does not work, i also do not have a clock, BUT the idiot lights work. i guess i'll have to remove the cluster and take a look.

any other suggestions? i checked the FSM and saw nothing about this :(

The gauge itself can also just go kaput. Mine kicked the bucket years ago for no apparent reason. No amount of fiddling with the connection to the board has been able to fix it.

well oddly enough i took a left hand turn yesterday and it jumped up out of no where, it read around 13v (ish) and worked for the rest of my ride to work...at lunch time i took it out to get some food and the gauge was no longer working :(

also my temp gauge moves only about 1mm if that. it is a S4 and there are 3 lines at the bottom 2 of which are separated with a line and then the next one is slightly further up. the indicator moves up from that separated line but only a tiny bit. at first i thought it didnt work at all but now looking closely it does move slightly. is this a stuck thermostat?

Next time the volt gauge will not work with engine running..................just rap the plastic cover that covers the instrumenst. The needle will jump ut and start reading.......probably.

i tapped the dash last night, and it jumped right up and has stayed on. Was still on this morning too so it looks to be a loose connection.

looks like this wont be too difficult after all.
