nitrous
i heard that 7's run fairly well with nitrous. all though correct me if ive been told wrong.
what exactly do i need to get for a good nitrous setup? any replys help. |
FUEL and MORE of it!
You need to have a strong Engine to begin with and a strong drive train. Then you need to make sure you get a WET kit. A fuel piggy back would be a good idea. BTW- I have Fully uncollected with RB mufflers, how do you like the HKS cans? I just love the RB stuff, but have heard the HKS stuff sounds really loud. |
mine isnt that loud at all. i actually like it cause its like a sleeper exhaust. it even looks stock. everyone that i race thinks its stock till i fly right by them.

You cna also go to 1300cc.com and look for the article that explains almost anythign you wanna know about NOS on a rotary.

Simply for a wet shot:
Fuel pressure regulator. (Aeromotive (sp?) Upgraded pump (think Walbro 255). Crane Hi-6 with ignition retard (or any ignition that can retard timing, since NOS can pwn you, 1300cc.com helps explain why its good for 75 shot or larger). Nitrous Kit (Nos, Nitrous Express, Zex is gay). Probably a new clutch, flywheel. And you want to make sure your 5th/6th ports are open by the time you hit the button. I hope that helps, its the safest way FYI. |
what if i take the 5th and 6th port acuators out could i vertually spray at any time?
|
does anybody know if i take the 5th and 6th port acuators out would i be able to vertually spray at any time?

I never really see any point in spraying before 3000 rpm, which you can do in any gear anyway. |

Well, I agree on the loss of low-end power when off the juice.
There are other ways around this. I usually open the auxilaries at 3600 rpm, then engage the nitrous system at 4000 rpm until redline via rpm switches. Normal drivability, guaranteed to be open whenever the nitrous is engaged... I dunno how exactly you mean that having the auxilaries open all the time will increase engine wear... because it won't increase wear at all. Personally, when building an nitrous engine, I'd rather just build a 4-port engine.... building one right now actually. |
