This was the first breakstand I've done the entire time I've owned it, so I had my friend take a picture.

The very day I got my 88 GXL i tried to do a breakstand in my school parking lot ( as power in highschool is directly attributed to how big of a bakey you can do), i've done them hella times in my old mazda B-series, and countless other rear wheel drive vehicles, but I couldnt for the life of me get my RX7 to do one? it just kept stalling or taking off, how did you manage yours? a line lock?

damn man, you rally race that bitch or what?:p:

Can't do it very well in my 89 N/A... but in my 97 stang (auto yes, I know :( ) It went like this:
Put shifterdown in 1st, mash brake a little bit, stomp gas peddle, hold brake, let go of brake once you can't see out the windshield from all the smoke :D With a manual... push in clutch and hold brake. I "heel toe" to get the revs up on the gas, then dump the clutch at about 4K, then use my left foot for the brake. Get some smoke goin, let go of the brake, and then you go from there... well.... having a n/a 7 sucks for burnouts :( Now if the road is damp.... well... its easy as hell, and QUITE fun to do powerslides. Even with an open differential its very easy to control it. |
:werd: i kinda fucked up when I did my first burn out/doughnut.........man did I fuck up.
|
My first burnout was test driving my car before I got it, the previous owner just about shit in his pants when I did it =D In all fairness thoug I was just learning how to drive stick and it was an accident.
|
I have a video of my 28 second breakstand, butb I dont have a way to get it on the computer
|
wow i wish i could get pics of my car at the track, I powerbrake there in the burnout area, i just drop the clutch at six and hold the revs there for a bit with my foot lightly on the brakes then quickly shift to second and return to the brake. Makes for a great burn out and sticky tires. Mine it an 86 na, never had a problem gettin it to burn out
|
i had a nice couple donuts in my n/a at an empty parking lot.
I had my friend in the car, and he said i couldnt do it (the roads were just a lil damp from the rain earlier in the day). so i got into the donut, then didnt want to overrev, so i quickly shifted into second, and just kept going til i was making them perfect circles.... scared the shit out of my friend. good times. |
If you put a Line Lock on your car.. its much easier to burnout!!!!!!
|
This is my very first brakestand, not in my seven though.
