I just got a 10AE, know some about it, but it needs a few things that are getting addressed.

My big problem is, I was driving home the other night, car backfired LOUD, lost all boost and it started to over heat a bit, limped it about 5 blocks more and it died. Pushed it home 4 blocks, parked it.
Started it today, (with a boost) took it to run some errands, and it died again.
Now I have ZERO boost, its running about 700 degrees and still backfiring like nuts!

Im not sure if this makes a huge difference, but the exhaust manifold gasket is leaking pretty bad?

Any ideas for me?

Time for a compression check. Or, at the very least, a "make sure all the seals are at least present" check. Pull both leading (or trailing, doesn't matter) plugs, pull the EGI fuse so the fuel injection & ignition are disabled, and crank the engine over. You should hear even "chuffs", every 180 degrees of crankshaft rotation. If you're missing any, or missing an entire rotor worth, it's rebuild time.

Before doing a lot of other troubleshooting, do this - it's quick, easy, and lets you know where to at least start.

And, yes, a leaking exhaust manifold gasket, on a turbo, will cause boost issues.

Cool, ill get that checked right away, I know a compression test is tommorow or monday...

The question is, I drove the car for a week with no boost issues at all, and this big ass backfire and everything goes to shit:( haha

not sounding good.... sounds like a apex seal went and took out the turbo with it......
i could def. be wrong though... the compression check will tell alot more...

Im more than happy to start over with a new motor/turbo :bigthumb:

But I just want to drive my car, and not sure how long it would take to get everything apart and back together:(
