Newbie Rally Questions...
I really want to get into rallying... I've got an 88 t2 with a few mods, but want it to be set up for rally... what suspension should I use? Lights? Intake on top? Rollcage? Etc... what do I need exactly to compete? What class would I want to compete in? Please help, I'm really lost.

Get in touch with your local SCCA club. There'll be rally folks there who can help. Go to www.SCCA.org and then to the regional websites. There are a number of forms of rally, they'll help you get started.

Re: Rally
Good Choice! Rallying is one of the most under rated forms of motorsports out there. You will have a blast.
I am in the process of building a second gen rally car. The class I am building for is "Group 5". The classes that you would be concerned with would be Group 5 or Production GT. Production GT is a stock type class - mostly dominated by 4 wheel drive. Group 5 is an open class. You start with a shell - Completely gut it, and build back up with only the bare essentials. My car will weigh somewhere around 2150 when I am done. I am starting out with the turbo 2 motor running a delorto carb. over the next year I will develop the chassis and then start to work on the turbo stuff to go back on. Anyone who would like to see a video clip that will give you goose bumps - click on this link http://216.149.233.131/files/movie/wrc-high.wmv The SCCA rally link is: http://www.scca.org/amateur/performa...lly/index.html They have the rule book online.
