New Turbo2 owner!!! now I need some advice.

I just got back from the bank from buying a 1987 turbo2. I bought the car for $500 but all of the vacume lines for the turbo are all missing and the car needs painting but the body and interior are in good shape. I was told that the car had a new reman engine put in about 20k miles ago and he is getting me all the records on the car. Something down by the turbo caught on fire and melted all the vacume lines, that is how the car got in the condition it is now. The guy took it to the dealer and they quoted him $600 for parts plus labor. He just needs money and couldent afford to fix it. Now down to the question parts. Everything that you see in my sig that has been done to my 3rd gen I have done myself. So I know how everything works and can do all the work myself. I was just wondering if any of you guys have any sugestions of things I should do while I have all the turbo system pulled apart??? Like wastegate pills or whatever. I will eventually have exauts DP intake and fuel computer and all that on the car. Also is there a website that you can go to for the 2nd gens and look at the service manuals???

Well Im jealous. A FD and now a FC. Well I like www.rx7.com and the store here that jason owns, and the list goes on and on. That should give you some info for now on the exhaust and stuff. You can go to my site for some more links. go to the mods page
As far as the service manual, just go buy a haynes manual at your local parts place. They are the best.

Hey sounds fun. If the wiring harness is untouched, then just replacing melted hoses and broken pieces.

Guess your first priority would be getting it to run :)

After that, I'd consider having the fuel injectors cleaned and blueprinted, 60K service, checking if the cats are clogged (replace with perf cat), check the fuel tank gas strainer for gunk, verifying proper voltage to the fuel pump, etc..

After than maby doing state 1 of the performance upgrades. That would be gagues (air/fuel, boost, coolant temp, exhaust temp), perf. intake, fresh air headlight scoop, cold air box, catback exhaust, perf cats, downpipe, etc...

Might also consider performance spark plug wires and silicon cable covers & vacuum lines.
