New Turbo Spec? List of my upgrades and what to do
Hey guys looks at upgrading my turbo ... was looking at a t04b with these specs..My question is, is this going to big enough? Looking at getting 300-400whp is this possible and running 8-15psi what I can I expect for spool/rpm?
Intake: 3 inch Inlet: 2 inch Compressor trim: .60ar Compressor Wheel diameter: 53.90 /69.31 Turbine Wheel diameter: 63.98 /73.89 Exhaust Trim: 1.12ar Turbine flange type:T4 flange Down pipe flange type: 3 inch v band Typical Journal Bearing My car currently has: Full 3 inch exhaust, bigger fmic with 2.5" piping, power fc standalone, 255 walbro, 4x720cc injectors, mild port, custom ss manifold, not worried about clearing lim and water/meth inj. |
the turbo seems a little small
Especially the compressor wheel, its smaller then a to4b H trim and almost the same size as a v trim. The turbine seems to be a P trim wheel. at 15-16 psi, it could make atleast 300hp Comparable, its between a bnr stage 1 and 2 |
It will do 350rwhp with meth injection.

These were my thoughts exactly ... but I'm not an expert so I thought i would ask you guys..would a gt45 be a better fit?
GT45R A/R 70 A/R 1.0 Turbine: A/R 1.00 Turbine wheel: exducer: 64.5 mm inducer:73.6mm compressor: A/R 70 Compressor wheel: inducer: 61.4mm exducer:82mm 4'' Vband water and oil cooled intet size: 4'' outlet size:2.5" Thrust bearing: 360 |
Or??? Would the twin scroll be ideal? Big difference here with compresser/turbine wheels?
gt45 turbo charger 1.00ar Intake :4 inch Outlet: 2.5 inch Compressor trim: .70 ar Compressor Wheel diameter: 66.71 /84.20 Turbine wheel diameter : 63.56 /73.60 Exhaust trim: 1.00ar 3.25" v band flange oil cooled only Twin scroll turbine housing |
I had to look up a GT45R because the wheel diameters you listed don't seem at all right...and indeed they aren't. Those two turbos you have listed as a "GT45R" aren't GT45s at all...They read like the China eBay "GT45" turbos.
All the GT45s have much larger wheels: (from ATP Turbo) Turbine -Wheel: 87.0mm w/ 85 trim -Housing: 1.01, 1.15, 1.28, 1.44 A/R Compressor -Wheel: 108.0mm exd./80.8mm ind w/ 56 trim -Housing: .69 A/R http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...R-774596-2.htm If you want 350-400HP, then you're looking at the GT35R. A real one. :) |

Thanks Aaron ..the specs didn't make sense to me either and yes they are from 'said' gt45 ebay turbos...The more and more I research the less I want one, however just out of curiosity with those specs what would be a comparable turbo?
if so, those wheel specs are almost exactly the same as a to4r turbo. I think they modeled the turbo specs from a hks to4r and not a gt45. |

you mean the comparable to the specs of the ebay turbos?

Why spend money on something that is well-known for failure..
Just spend a little more and you'll be set for life! |
Anyone running a turbonetics? What would be a good size for 300-400hp
