new thread, new (rare)problem..

so, what's up with my tilt steering wheel? i tried to adjust it to my specifications and when i pulled the lever down my steering wheel went all the way down too. that's good, it's the way i like it.. BUT now i can move the wheel up and down without me even pulling the lever down. not only is this uncool and annoying, it's also pretty damn unsafe.

is there something i'm missing?

Sesshoumaru 09-10-03 10:19 PM

the lever locks it when it's pushed in................

Sir Rupert Hobo 09-10-03 10:59 PM

well i know that, lol. it's pushed all the way in.. and it still won't stay.

What are you a midget? The tilt steering wheel is a joke since most people always have it all the way up. Im thinking of getting a smaller wheel so I can get in easier.

Sir Rupert Hobo 09-10-03 11:57 PM

naw.. i'm 6 foot. i just like the way it's positioned, dunno why.

Sir Rupert Hobo 09-11-03 12:57 PM

bump? i still have this prob..

Sir Rupert Hobo 09-11-03 04:40 PM

argh! this is crazy, i'm just gonna have to take the whole damn thing off i guess..

uh, BUMP:D

V8kilr 09-11-03 07:28 PM

well its definetly broke if thats the answer your looking for.

my 87 gxl never did that, nor does my 89 gxl

Sir Rupert Hobo 09-12-03 05:45 PM

well, i got it fixed(if anyone cares...)

alls i did was insert a nail where the wheel slides up and down this bracket close to the firewall. sounds ghetto(probably cuz it is), but it works!

RunningDeer 09-12-03 06:31 PM

What do you mean sounds getto? A nail? Whatever makes you happy, I guess :)
