New Struts + Broken Leg = Big Mess

Well i finally got my new rear struts for christmas and while im itching to get them on a few days ago i scived off and broke my leg. Ive employed my good friend to do it for me and i was wondering if im going to need to take the brake assembly off and do i need a spring compressor? thanks a lot.

no you will not need to take off your brakes. when i change mine i do not use a spring compressor, i just have one person push and the other one screws the nut back on. ( not the easiest way ) spring compressor would be a better choice, just go rent one from a tire place. like Les Schwab. changing the rear strust are really easy.

heres the steps.

1. jack up car
2. open hatch
3. take out rear speakers
4. take off those 2 bolts for the top of the strut
5. undo the 17mm ( i believe) on the bottom of the strut. and Wala

procced to the other side and your done. :)

yeah, the rear shocks are the easiest thing ever.

if only the front were as easy to get off.

but, watch out for your exhaust, mine was still hot after letting it sit for a little and surprised the heck out of me.

Well, I was talking about the scratch you can see on the lower right side of the port. I messed up with the grinder there!
