new steering wheel?

i've been looking around for a new steering wheel. i don't like any of the momo or sparcos wheels. the only one i like is the momo monte carlo. i would like something like that thats plain and simple. pretty light wieght if possible. if any one knows where i could get a wheel like that it would be great.

I bought the carbon fibre from pepboys, I like it alot and it is light and feels good, but the install was a bitch.

Check these out!

Nardi/Personal steering wheels

Scroll down after shift knobs.

Be aware that most of these steering wheels require their own adapters.  The MOMO adapters can cost you up to $80 for the FC adapter, so keep that in mind when want to purchase one.

A step up from the Monte Carlo is the Corse(?).  I think it's better built than the Monte Carlo.

Be VERY careful when doing this swap yourself.  There is a plastic ring for the turn signals and power steering (if you have PS) that can get easily damaged.

I have Momo Race steering wheel sitting on my desk... just waiting to get my FC back and install it. It's a VERY good looking steering wheel I must say. It looks 100X better than it does in catalog.

Thanks for the heads up, Ted. I'll be sure to not break anything during the swap... :)

thanks for the link. some of those are pretty nice, just wish the pictures were better.

Aderson, it's not as hard as people thinks, I have Personal on mine and I moded the hub and my turn signal works along with other stuff.

When/if you purchase one PM me I'll go over with you.

One thing about 350mm steering wheels, it's lot more responsive than the stock steering wheels.

As bad as it may sound I have an 'A1C' steering wheel. I broke my stock wheel doing the push on the top of the steering wheel to pop your back because RX-7s were not designed for nine hour drives manuver. The kit and the wheel together cost no more than thirty bucks, so I figured I couldn't loose. The only really crappy part that came with it was the horn button assembly. After the install the button would randomly shoot out into my lap, leading to the new 'console horn'. The asthetics of the wheel are more than pleasing if you want a plain no frills wheel. It is the 4 spoke type. Crude diagram to follow: (=0=) the O is the center and the () are supposed to be the edges of the actual wheel.

I replaced my stock steering wheel with a Grant wheel when I fixed my wiper switch. It looks a thousand times better, and reacts better too. It's a four spoke design, stainless center, black leather rim.

This is my cheapo Isotta Nivola steering wheel. Its pretty nice quality and feels great. around 120$ for wheel and adapter

No trouble.
Here's your mounting kit:

Just so you know, almost all Mazdas- and many Fords of that era- use the exact same steering shaft spline. Outside of minor details, lots of wheels will bolt directly on without any adaptors at all.

Rob XX 7 03-08-19 07:33 AM

it wasnt you causing trouble just odd you randomly asked
I guess its good you searched

for the record- I much prefer a wheel not requiring an adapter. I find when you get used to the car's wheel in the original spot it takes too much getting used to after you move it an inch or more towards yourself
