New Rims and tires...

Today I went and picked up my new (to me) rims and tires. Got a hell of a deal on them too. I dropped 250 bucks on em. The Tires are brand new and the rims are in decent condition. I am thinking about sanding the flat surface of the "star" to see if I can get rid of the few scratches. I want to try and get some level of a polishing on them, then new clear coat. Here are some pics.

get some pics of them on your car...
and old style but not bad for 250. the tires would be of more value to me.

Id like to see it on your ride.

I had some wheels alot like that, but I painted them bronze.

Rotary_Rocket_87 05-01-06 06:45 PM

I will post pics of them on my car as soon as I get them refinished. I am not going to mount them only to take them off.

DREYKO 05-01-06 09:46 PM

look kinda like mine, i put the pic in sig \/

Bukwild 05-02-06 07:12 AM

wow its like a time machine to the 80's

Rotary_Rocket_87 05-02-06 08:18 AM

What is wrong with '80s style rims on an '80s car. It only makes sense. I think they will look alot better than the mismatched stockers I have on the car, and not to mention that they are alot lighter than the stock rims.

PhotoShopped the rims on...

Hey, for all those who want to see the rims on my car, I photoshopped them on to a pic I had, so here it is.

Good buy!

These Fittipaldis are similar, except they appear to have a little less offset. Although the style seems plain looking, I think it compliments the car well. Plus, the wheels are light, and very easy to clean.

teamfuel 05-02-06 10:54 AM

Those are an OLD style...I put a set on an 87n/a my senior year in high school ('94-'95)!!!

Ah, memories.

Rotary_Rocket_87 05-02-06 11:02 AM

Alright, what is up with everyone baggin on the old look. Personally I don't like the new "bling" lookin rims. I like to kick it ol' school. As buttsjim said they are easy to clean and they do look good on the FC. Oh yeah, and I didn't drop a shitload of money I don't have on a set of snazzy rims that i am just gonna end up hating to clean. whatever, keep baggin on me, I don't care, I like em, and that is all that matters.

Rotary_Rocket_87 05-06-06 04:46 PM

Alright, I got sick of looking at my rims sitting on the ground, waiting to be put on my car. Here are the pics.

I like the old school look! Had those way back in the day..great find

puhpaper 05-06-06 04:59 PM

not bad. reminds me of something vaguley familiar.

Rotary_Rocket_87 05-06-06 05:39 PM

Thanks guys. I am taking it out tonight for the first time on the rims, and hopefully they ride alright. Also gotta love the fact that they are like 10 pounds lighter than the original T2 rims. The only thing I don't like about the setup is the rear tires are a little narrow. I have 205/55r16s all the way around, and I hope they can maintain traction with my heavy right foot.

Rotary_Rocket_87 05-07-06 06:27 PM

Nope, it doesn't mean you have to, but I wouldn't give you shit for doing it.

cdaleracer669 05-07-06 06:42 PM

i like em

Rotary_Rocket_87 05-07-06 07:06 PM

sorry vipers, i read the post too quick and kinda overlooked the compliment. and thanks to anyone else that likes the rims. to all the over opinionated people that have to tell others what is cool, piss off. the best thing about owning a car is making it your own, not following the crowd. I own a Mazda, not a Honda, and If I wanted a car to look all tuner like I would buy a honda.

metal 05-07-06 07:44 PM

All tuner like this badass 92 4 door of my friends? :D Same rims, took a pic after I detailed it haha.

darksider 05-07-06 09:18 PM

nice. i was wondering if thats a dent on the side skirt. ive seen on a couple of cars and am starting to think it came like that factory. thanks

Rotary_Rocket_87 05-08-06 08:44 PM

Nope, that is a dent. I don't know how it happened, as I have known this car for 10 years and it was always like that. I think the first owner took a corner too tight and dragged the rocker off a curb.

oddphella 05-08-06 09:21 PM

I've got the same wheels on my daily driver...take the center caps offs, looks much better.
