I hope this is in the right forum. If not, I apologize.

$500 - 88 GXL
It will be my beater / rally car.
(The red supra in the background is my daily driver.)

I bought her last week. She is a little sick right now, but will be okay with a little TLC.

She has a nasty short that kills the battery overnight and a bit of body damage (as you can see below).

Fix the 7 up real good and switch so the Supra is your rally/beater and the 7 can be your daily driver. :) Good luck with it, nothin like a good fun project car.

Looks like the glass is OK. Any 86-91 non vert will fit.

Nice car but fix it up and throw away the supra. Well not throw away just sell it to make the 7 a crazy daily commuter. Sevens are fun and fast. Got to leve them.

Welcome

Good deal for $500. Body damage is only superficial...

Haha I dont think that the Supra would take too kindly to that type of abuse. I think it would fall apart. It weighed 3780 lbs with a full tank of gas and no driver. Besides, she is turbo (running 12 lbs boost) and hella fast on the highway.

The 7, on the other hand is quite a bit lighter and more nimble. It would be a shame to make her a daily driver when I can rally it and AutoX it. Sports cars are made to be driven, right?

:D

So, how much would a bridgeport cost (on average)?

Anderson 03-07-03 09:47 PM

Bridgeports can run you about $300 more than a rebuild. I say rebuild cus you might was well change all the seals while your at it. You jsut have to find out who will do them in your area.

heh, all the mk3 crowd coming over to pick up some FCs. =) i'm looking for a FC TII myself this summer, doing the same thing, mk3 as the daily, FC as the new toy. done dumping money on the supra....for now :D
good luck with the FC.

Damn, that car is hurt. The door is no big deal, the rest is. Keep your eye on tire wear, I bet she is bent..

Nope not bent. :D

I got the door off and banged most of the dent out. I also stripped the interior. I plan to relieve the exhaust and gut parts like the A/C and emissions crap shortly...

More pics to come in a bit.

Skid plating to come later. I plan to protect the oil pan, transmission, rear diff, and gas tank. A SCCA/FIA spec roll cage will also come a bit later. Seam welding etc etc... later.

I plan to slowly build this to compete in Clubrally. For now I will try my hand at rallyX.
