New lighter steel flywheel v stock flywheel

In the end I feel like I'm going to go ahead and pick up a new flywheel, just wondering what kind of experiences you guys have had with aftermarket setups.

Goods? Bads?

I'm leaning towards this as a solution to match with a new ACT S/S clutch for my TII.

My concern with the stock flywheel is, it's been machined/resurfaced once already, and the stock disc replacement (30K ago) started slipping after opening up the entire exhast.

Thoughts?

I cant say from experience as of yet, but if you decide you do want a light steel flywheel, at www.horsepowerfreaks.com they have the ACT streetlite (13.9lb) for a tad over $200. I think the counterweight is something like $125 if you need it. I havent finished wiring up my microtech so i dont know how it is going to do but i'm hoping for good things.

I have the ACT ss clutch on my vert/t2 with the stock flywheel. I am changing to a ACT 6puck later this month because the ss clutch didn't feel alot better than stock. I am staying with the stock flywheel because I like stop light to stop light fun. But if you want a clutch go with a 6puck.

I have the ACT ss clutch with the RB 9.5# flywheel. This set up is PERFECT for my dailydriving/weekend autoxing. There is no reason not to go with a 9.5# flywheel(unless you're into drag or can't afford it). It's not nearly as hard to drive on the street as some make it out to be and it makes downshifting a dream. Get the lightened flywheel, and go for a 9.5# one if you can. Worth every penny.

you cant necessarily compare an RB 9.5#er with an X brand 9.5#er. they can be different.
i, too, want a light flywheel and my engine died and is being rebuilt soon. perfect time to replace clutch/flywheel setup. i cant afford the RB, so i may get the ACT Streetlite (or Prolite if i can find it cheap enough). i have a 91 N/A, though, so its harder to find flywheels (cheap).
