new here and need some help
 

ok i have a 87 Rx7 non turbo and from what i know the basic model. i am completely new to the rx7 and the rear wheel drive. so here are my question.

1- what can i get to make the tires chrip in first and second gear. i know in fron wheel drive you can get a new gasket kit or overhaul kit and that will do the trick?

2- what mods besides the intake filter can i do to get some power in this car but keep it reliable? id like to get around 200 N/A? is that possibel and how easy?


i have heard many great things about these cars and now i had the opportunity to get one and at a good prize.

200 horses is easy....200 at the wheel requires a lot.

The money it takes to do that you are better off with a stock TII

about how much would it cost for bridge work and new hight compression rotors?

like i said im completely new. i really dont want to go TTi because the N/A motors i have read and heard last a lot longer.

Easy work you said ? can someon explain more detaliled how easy and what it takes.


Also what about tire chirping shift? anyone know what i can do to get those? anyways in first or secone gear?

another question i have for you that are experts in rx7. i want to do a cat back system and hear they have 3 catalyc conveters. if i take two out or all of them will it through and engine code? basically im going to attemed to use mendrel bent piping and do it myself and take the catalyc converters off. any suggestions and help on this would be great also any info on the above question s too . never got them ansered. thanks a lot .

Are you trying to get an AUTO to chirp the tires?

and pulling your cats does not cause the ECU to throw a code. Lots of us have removed our cats. Search for that, and you shall be rewarded...:)

You can chirp the tires by shifting fast and knowing how to release the clutch and gun it. You don't need any kits or crap like ricers mods. :rolleyes:

Man, midnightride42 proof read before you post... too many spelling erorres mak it bery hard to undrstad.

To answer your questions:

#1, put tiny tires on
#2, intake and true dual exhaust as well as a few minor things like the E-shaft thermo pellet, and PD will get you reliability and decent HP.

You didn't say if you want 200 FWHP or RWHP. I am assuming that you don't really know the difference between the two.

As far as your cost to bridge port or "hight" compression rotors, you would be looking at the cost of a rebuilt motor+ those modifications... Probably upwards in the $3K-4K+ range, and then what ever it costs you too install it.

#4 There are three cat converters on a 86-88 N/A, but the only two you can remove are in front of the main cat. These are called pre-cats. All other FC's only have 2 cats. A single pre-cat and a main cat. Removing the main cat only fouls the air and makes your car stinky, it does not throw any ECU codes.

ok, i have automatic 87 Rx7 N/a. right now i cant get the tires to chirp unless im going around tires. i want to have about 200 RWHP. like i mentioned i am new to these cars and have never owned a rear wheel drive car.

not with the factory auto no. you would at least have to get it rebuilt or think about a 5 speed swap. are you trying to impress som eone or what? all youd do is wear out tired faster. and if you are allready saying you dont have money paying for new tires isnt going to help matters.

If you are interested in 200 RWHP, and tire chirping, you seriously need to consider ditching the auto. The Mazda auto is notoriously inefficient and unreliable.
