new headlight idea

i am sure that some body has already thought about this
but i havent seen any body did it yet
anyways what i am thinking about is make a clear light cover for the East Bear light kit
this way i can buy any body kit and dont have deal with the pop-up. IMO GP sports will look great (in my imagination)

um ... like the new nsx, it used to have pop-up, but honda make it more stylish and change it to non-pop-up in 1999
nsx light looks great that way, and the light stand above the hood quite a bit too

though i think it'll cost alot to make a cover like that ...
but consider the RE kit is around 2000 shipped, East Bear + cover should cost less

sub9lulu 06-29-03 06:02 PM

nsx light

Dltreezan 06-29-03 07:05 PM

im a lil bit ahead of you...check my other thread....its whats coming after the bodykit and of course after i finish the hood in a few days and get a few off......

sub9lulu 06-29-03 08:40 PM

man
your car look sweet ~

yea, go for the headlight
i m thinking exactly what you are !!
so go for it, if it is out i'll be the first one buying

Dltreezan 06-30-03 12:22 AM

sounds good....i dont think it owuld be too hard but i have my ideas....and i know exactly how to do it....just some RnD......and they are going to be curved over the lights all the way down to the front....sick idea...i cant wait to make it

Project84 06-30-03 12:27 AM

you guys talking about clear panels so that the projector lights can shine through without popping up like the stock lights do? These come with body kits or you can buy them seperate.

the idea here is the head light will not take the space of the front bumper, only take the filp up spot where the light suppose to be. i could then have my own choice of GP / Knight sport or whatever front bumper that i wanted
the picture u showed is RE, as i mentioned it cost around 2000 shipped

 whats with people and just saying that something is "rice"...? At least explain your reasoning behind it.

There is functionality behind removing the popup head lights... You ever drive your car at night? Those lights when up catch a lot of air. Leave em in the down position and you cant see... so, you remove the popups to have best of both worlds.

The REA kit for the front end of the FC is not rice, it's fantastic. It's price however is unobtainable.

thank you.

The canards provide downforce
The mouth is pratical for intercooling
The Design gives it a more 21st century look
The front provides air to easily reach the intake.
Also RE has been most of you guys were a fetus.

ERAUMAZDA 06-30-03 11:24 AM

Also, be thankful that RE is the many few business that give a shit about FC's

yearrgh 06-30-03 11:43 AM

Rice destroy's the lines of the car, good style works with the existing lines. The RE kit is beautiful, it accents and emphasizes the already pretty lines of our cars. A good and extreme example of the opposite, ricy look, would be the dumbasses that put a curvy, supra style spoiler, on a boxy late 80's honda accord. They should be shot twice. Once for owning a honda, and again for putting that wing on it.

sub9lulu 06-30-03 11:44 AM

when this thread turn into one that phrase RE
dont get me wrong, RE has been great
but more option and lower price stuff for FC's are always better

ERAUMAZDA 06-30-03 11:47 AM

hopefully rotary extreme will make a dulipcate and it will be cheap

That's actually the best description I've heard. Sums up exactly what negative effect rice has on a car. Rice fights the design. Indeed, good work.

so you are gona have a 1" tall light?....

Dltreezan 06-30-03 04:56 PM

nope just do like eastbear and put a cover over it..a sculpted one...its what i plan on doing and if you call losing some drag and if u have ever had to change the motors out of ur pop up lights then ull know how much of a weight redux it is....and some people like the style...so dont give me the rice bullshit....and yes the FC2000 kit is nice.....just like the gp-sports kit...with the xception of everything but the front end......and if you can afford one of those kits and make it look nice u can probably afford and FD also...we need good looking, well fitting and CHEAP.....so thats what im doing.....so soon these lights will be available as well as another bodykit, and im giving people the option of being able to pick and choose as they like some people might like the kit but want to keep their barn doors.....its up to them...interchangeability, not uncle bens

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...postid=1895673 here the kit....just imagine a better looking sideskirt....a smaller intake hole in the front.......

sub9lulu 06-30-03 11:22 PM

and imagine the nsx light too

n4ji 06-30-03 11:46 PM

Get rid of the windshield banner....

Dltreezan 07-01-03 12:41 AM

why?? it adds at least 40hp and decreases drag

introVert 07-01-03 01:18 AM

And lose the spoiler, even though it adds at least 50rwhp, and downforce enough so you can drive it on the ceiling at speed.

Agent_D 07-01-03 02:06 AM

i think im the only person who thinks the FC2000 front is FUGLY, im sorry it just seems tasteless, i just cant see it on our cars, but thats my opinion. I absolutely love the Odula car, with a stock S5 front and the odula lower lip its awesome.

I dont think our cars look quite right without pop ups, their just part of the car. But if there were some kind of nice integrated lights like the R33 skyline look that would be awesome, or even like the S15 j-spec lights, but our cars dont really have the front look for those kinda lights either, pop ups are great, but i would buy some integrated if they looked good enough and had just as good a shine pattern and brightness as H4 pop ups.
