New FC Parts from CorkSport: CorkSport Aluminum Radiator and CorkSport Fan Shroud!

http://corksport.com/store/image/2k1...Fan_Shroud.jpg

I know that every time someone posts an engine bay pic without their fan shroud on people scream "PUT YOUR SHROUD BACK ON!" and then there is the longstanding debate about whether or not electric fans move as much air as our awesome clutch fans. Debate no more! Run an aftermarket radiator and still retain the stock clutch fan!

The CorkSport fan shroud is more aesthetically pleasing compared to the stock fan shroud that has the unsightly "dent". Our shroud is made from hi-temp FRP, comes gel coated black, and can be installed as is or painted. The fan shroud is designed to be used with either the stock radiator or thicker aftermarket radiators like the CorkSport Power Series Radiator.

The CorkSport fan shroud is made for cars that don't use the factory airbox snorkel. The recess for the snorkel has been removed to allow for extra clearance with thicker radiators, which would cause the factory fan shroud to come in contact with the fan.

Pricing: $79 + shipping

New from CorkSport, The 'Power Series' radiator. The CorkSport radiator fits the 1986-1991 Mazda Rx7 turbo and non turbo models. Our radiator uses a 65mm thick core and it is all aluminum in construction.

Note: 86-88 models require a small amount of trimming to the factory shroud if used to clear the filler neck, or use of the CorkSport Fan Shroud.

Pricing: $299 + shipping (Compared to Koyo at $320+ and Fluidyne at ~$400!)

Tell me about it. Product R&D is great, except I end up spending all my money at work.

looks good man, I'm tempted to say the least. I'll tell you what I don't need it right now, but when I do need a new radiator I'll buy this one.

I have a fluidyne aluminum radiator, currently with the stock fan and fan shroud. Which E-fan do you think would fit best with my setup? And is that a dual pass radiator you are selling?

AlexG13B 05-01-08 08:48 PM

radiator looks good.

Thanks a lot. We've spent a lot of time on these!

I am running the corksport radiator, and am absolutely satisfied with it. One of the best pieces I've seen in a long time. I'd go as far as to compare it to the Ron Davis radiator (standard off the shelf size) in the Mustang GT1 car I work on, and that was over twice the price. Plus, this thing is absolutely HUGE, no worries about overheating ever again.

wow, some of tax rebate= corksport radiator.

How well does that shroud fit on a Koyo?

I've got my clutch fan, but my OEM shroud is splitting do to rigged up mounting and me habitually using the shroud to hold my weight while I play ballet trying to get things done on my engine.

Dyno charts have proven that you get increased power upwards over 8rwhp by removing the clutch fan.

Everything looks nice but... I guess I would have to see the shroud in person to see why I would spend $80+ shipping on a shroud that does the same thing, or possible not as good, as the stock shroud...

Make an aerodynamic shroud for the stock and aftermarket rads that fit 16" electric fans and you will get lots of service :)

Thats not why they are giving you that money.

The 8whp is debatable at best, but that's not what this thread is about, so let's not pollute it.

I don't think you quite understand why we made this shroud... The point of the new shroud is to remove the recess for the stock air snorkel. The reason we made this is that with a thicker than stock radiator, it pushes the shroud out farther to the point where it will actually make contact with the fan. With our shroud this isn't a problem because we removed the recess for the snorkel, which is where the fan would hit.

mmm looks like im not gonna be buyin a koyo radiator in a few weeks hahaha

3Faced 06-08-08 01:50 PM

Do you have any temp comparisons between your new radiator, koyo, fluidyne and ron davis / AWR? I'm in the market for a new radiator. I'm running into water temp problems after doing the housings coolant passage mod and adding a GT4094R. I'm still running an FMIC. Trying to avoid a vmount setup and I'm currently running using Koyo. AZ summer temps and low humidity don't help any:(

okay about the Fan Shroud,S5 and S4 RX7 have diferent mounting holes for the shroud, will this piece fit both series?or does it need any mods to get installed?

It fits both, but requires slight trimming depending on which series you use.
