New exhaust on 88 vert fc
Ok, so i'm deciding on buying a new exhaust mainly y-pipe and mufflers. Im currently looking at Borla and Racing beat exhaust. btw i own a 1988 rx7 convertible non-turbo. So any idea's or suggestions?

The RB catback will have have nice note, and not be overly loud.

I have an 89 S5 vert NA, and a friend and i were playing with the exhaust last weekend.
We went from the factory manifold (no header yet) to 2.5" stainless pipe to a double chamber flowmaster - to a y pipe and a couple really nice tips out the back.. It sounds wild... I never heard a flowmaster behind a rotary but it sounds tuned... sort of like a 350z or G35 tuned exhaust... just a lot louder. |
Thanks for the help guys, I will let you know how everything goes.

Flowmasters sound good, I'll give you that, but damn if they are the "flowmaster". They actually don't flow that well. :) |
The Borla setup is very nice sounding too and is extremely well built. I had one on my previous NA FC and it was on the car nearly 10 years through many salty winters. It looked about the same when I took it off as when I installed it. Back when I bought it in 1998 or so, the RB exhausts were not fully stainless so Borla made more sense for a snow belt daily driver, but I think the RB is now all stainless.
