New comer needs some help with his rx7 s5

Hi,

i'm new to the whole rotary life. i started out looking for a R33 gts-t but test drove a red s5 rx7 13bt and fell in love with it and drove it home a week later. it has all electrics, sunroof, and aftermarket exhaust.

The questions i have are:-

1- does my car come standard with a BOV?
2- the engine is stock standard apart from the exhaust. what are the first mods i should do? i was thinking a front mount?
3- how high can i up the boost befor it become unsafe? is the standard boost 7psi?
4- I would like my rx7 to become a GTR eater. so i am leaving the factory body kit standard but am aiming for about 400 KW at the rear wheels. any info on how to extract this sort of figure without to much risk of killing my engine would be great.

Yes. However, it's piped back into the intake. So, if you want the ricer "pssssssh" sound, you'll have to buy a new one.

A complete tune-up... Plugs, oil, fuel filter, wires, etc, etc, etc.

If you already have an aftermarket exhaust, you probably have a fuel cut defender. If you aren't sure, you need to look for it and make sure you have it. If not, the computer cuts fuel to the rear rotor at 8.6 pounds of boost, which will make you, in a word, fucked. As far as raising the boost, I suggest you get to know your car, read the forums, read the FAQ, and use the search button.

Bottom line, you aren't getting to those kind of power levels without taking the engine out, tearing it apart, getting it ported, rebuilding it, getting a big ass turbo, front mount, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc... You need to learn about the car first, m'kay?

well your looks like your goal is about 536hp thats a ton of power in a car this light, take it slow and read up on what other owners who go that power did first.

Do you have a Turbo II?

I have booked it into mazfix. it's getting a service, a custom front mount, getting the turbo peripheral port (including new housing), MTX-8, mazfix high flow turbo modification & recondition, hi flow Bosch EFI fuel pump, and a surge tank. they are performing a dyno run befor and after. hope to see some results. spending a fair bit of money but they promise it's all money well spent.

Turbo P-port? Wow...

this is not my daily drive. i have a bravo ute. it is mainly for cruises and dyno challenges. the poor fuel consumption and it will be hard to drive with the narrow power band.
