Need wheel and tire advice - with coilovers, rolled fenders
 

I'm installing Tein Super Drift coilovers this weekend, and had my fenders pulled at Defined Autoworks. I plan to let the car sit about 1" to 2" lower than stock.

What size wheels and tires would be ideal for my setup?

Also, what tires would you suggest for a car that gets daily driven in the summer but will see some aggressive driving? (I.e. tires need to last me a couple years but be sporty; no Azenis or track tires, but no all-seasons)

Fyi, I plan to use Enkei RPF1 wheels, so the sizes and offsets need to be ones thatre available for that particular wheel.

I'm aware of that part or the forum. My hope was that by posting here, in a more well-traveled area, I would get a faster response as my vendor expects me to place an order later today.

With coilovers and roller fender lips you should be able to go as wide as say a 245/40-17 tires on a 8.5" rim with about 30mm offset. If you can't get there with the wheels alone, then maybe with spaces and longer studs.

Dunlop Direzza dz101's are good tires if you are looking for a blend of performance and durability (nice rain performance too) as well as Hankook Ventus rs-3s (less rain ability)

Well, If wasn't such a poor slob, I would have gone with this sexy combo at all
four corners:

17x9- Enkei RPF1 +22 (Mustang fitment at Tirerack).
235-45-17- Sumitomo HTR Z III or, Dunlop Star-Spec.

I prefer a non-stager fitment for balanced handeling and tire rotation. The 17x9.5
would be an option for the rear with a 255-40-17 with plenty of room.

Note that the above RPF1 size and offset is in my opinion, the best looking spoke
without the funky concave affect.

Thanks for all the help! Here's what I'm planning on, based on the fact it's the most extreme setup I can go with with reasonable certainty of not rubbing:

F: 17x8 +35 235/40r17
R: 17x9 +22 255/40r17

Currently I am running 225/50-16 tires on a set of 16 x 7.5" 30mm offset Mustang rims. This spring I will be rolling my fender lips with an Eastwood tool and installing my Stance GT+ coilovers with softer 400/300 lbs (7.2K/5.4K) Eibach springs. I am staying with a non staggered setup, but this time 245/40-17 tires on one of my sets of SSR type C 17x 8.5" 42mm offset rims with 12mm spacers and longer studs. The second set of those rims is for use with track rubber.

I fit 17x9 +26 up front with 235/45/17's It barely clears my coilover and rubs the fenders. I've rolled the inner fender lip and just deal with it. I can't really go any higher on my GC setup, only about 3-4" lower which isn't going to happen.

Keep in mind that the above scenario will yield two different shaped spokes, the
17x8 will be concave and the 17x9 almost flat...not a deal breaker but, something
to consider from an asthetic standpoint. Also, most vendor pics of the rpf'1s do
not depict the actual wheel/spoke shape.

The 235/45-17 size is fairly tall and have been know to rub, the slightly narrower 225/45-17 or shorter and wider 245/40-17 may fit better.
