Need some tech support after a night at the drags

Ok so heres the story....I had half a tank of gas, I added chevron techron injector cleaner and drove to the dragstrip. I raced about 10 times. Pretty ruff I did a burnout each time...so I was waiting to race again and my engine started loading up a little bit so I revved it up..next thing I knew I was idleing at 5k. I jumped out to check the spring release on the throuttle, it was fine....still idle at 5k...I made it home, thankfully....it was hard as hell to drive though....with my foot off the gas it would do 70 in 5th....

So, my question. Is this a symptom of apex seals going? Stuck injectors? what should I check??

Thank you!

If your motor still has power its NOT your apex seals. That isnt a symptom of weak compression either.

Your throttle plates a probably stuck open. Stuck injectors would only flood the motor or make it run rich, they have nothing to do with you idle speed. Check your double throttle linkages and throttle cables in depth... post results

Is there cruise control on the car?

Could you manually move the throttle back and forth under the hood

and no that is not a sign of a apex seal failure
