Need some seat mounting help please *searched already*

I'm looking for something like the bride lomax brackets -I noticed that in older threads it was stated that Bride made them -however I cannot find them listed on brides site nor anyone elses for that matter.

Any suggestions where to look?

I go the new Sparco Chrono Sport and it's side mount -I need it low because I'm 6'+

i want the same set-up to. how much did you pay for that seat? and i have your same height problem

sunburn 05-06-09 09:42 AM

$420 Locally... no shipping :)

the seat is excellent! I'm 6'1" 240lb and I fit perfect

Bride has them... also found Nagisa

You might have to bolt it to the floor with no slider to get it low enough. I recently put a sparco Evo in my passenger side with the side mounts attached to a corbeau bracket with no slider, and if I sit in it with a helmet on I have to take the pad out, and I'm only 5'8".

If you used the Sparco side mounts that might be your problem... they are known to sit really high... look into Bride or Nagisa. :icon_tup:

Almost all the aftermarket seat mounts are very high. There was someone a few months ago who said he had Bride mounts that were as low as stock mounts, but after I gave him an infraction for calling me "stupid" when I suggested he look at fabricating mounts, he went insane so I had to ban him. Let me see if I can find the thread....

The thread is here: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=796779

Not much useful info though.

Yeah I saw that thread.

I think I'm going to just get sliders/side brackets and fab up mounts.

That's what I did. Get a used bracket, angled steel and start cutting, and welding. Might need a friend to help hold it together while you test it in the car before you fully weld it together. This way you can make the height you want as well.

I ended up getting a Bride bracket/slider combo.

IMPORTANT!!! if you go with this sea it is sidemount BUT HAS SPECIAL BRACKETS... they should come with the seat.

Typically any side mount seat will have the same mounting points and can be interchanged between brands.

I learned this one the hard way.

Gregory Casimir 05-08-09 12:53 PM

so how much did it cost you and werew did you get the bracket also is it positoined lower?

sunburn 05-09-09 07:13 PM

well I got the Bride FG mount and slider... WAY too high.

I'm going custom or simply doing a solid mount to the floor... I think I can get about 2 1/2 inches lower and keep the slider -but I'm not sure that's low enough.

After a little more research the mem-fab slider seems to be the way to go.

The make it for the FC -special order though so it would take a while to get.

I used a Bride mount on a Yonaka type seat..BUT I had to cut the bracket. It sort of has a Z pattern that make the Whole seat and bracket sit UP too High, and it makes teh seat Touch the roof of the car.I cut that Part off and had a welder Put the original Tabs of the NEW rails back on and Voila!..I had an aftermarket seat rail that was Just as low as the Stock seat rails!
I know I could have said "fugg it" and made the Seats Fit on the Stock rail, but I wanted NEW..so that was the price of playing!

Same deal here... I'm cutting that fugger and going to give it a shot.

They're adjustable though, I bolted it into the lowest position I could with the seat bottom scraping the top of the bracket under bracket. My arrangement was corbeau bracket to the car to create a flat surface, and then bolting the Sparco side mounts to the corbeau bracket. (Some drilling required)

Speaking of the corbeau brackets BTW, I have them on the driver and passenger side and both required modification before they would bolt onto the car. I had to hog out some of the mounting holes on the driver side one, and on the passenger side one I had to hog out holes AND cut off and re-weld the tab that bolts to the trans tunnel on the front left of the bracket, it wasn't even close to lining up with the hole in the car.

Ditto on the Corbeau mounts - mine were exactly the same way with respect to the tranny tunnel mount. took a lot of persuasion to get them to fit.
