Need some guidence- Newb
Hey, so i'm currently looking at purchasing a 1987 RX7 GS non turbo. I have heard that rotary engines take a beating in cold weather and I live in ottawa so we routinely get -25-30C weather. Would it be possible to keep the car running during this kind of weather without completely messing it up. I was also wondering if you guys could give me some reading material on how to improve reliability, proper maintenance, and if their are any rebuild articles out their taht would be great. Thanks a bunch and hopefully this will point me in the right direction.

FAQ on oil...
In starting and operating temperatures below 20F, use 5W30 In starting and operating temperatures between 0F and 80F, use 10W30. In starting and operating temperatures above 30F, use 20W50 For rebuild, you should get a video, and there's a thread in the archive on what parts you'll need for a rebuild. |
