Need some expert help

Okay fellow rotor fanatics i need some collective knowledge and assistance. I think all my current problems are linked to a now dead maf. heres the symptoms.
-Wont start 98.5% of the time
-When it starts runs rough like bad side seal (jumpd 12v from amp lines to start)
-No voltage going to the fuel pump unless test con jumped.
-Fuel system wont prime, checked no leaks and all injectors closed(originally though injectors stuck wideopen, not the case and fuel pump jumped from 12v source)

anyone else had similiar problems or dead maf please contribute. running out of ideas, narrowed down to dead mass air flow, bad fuel pump, fuel press regulator, and or bad fuel pump power supply (relays and such).

i dont know how much longer i can go without my baby.

as for the fuel pump it should only be on either if the car is running. or while cranking. it should not be on with the engine is off, and keys to on.

the jumper on the pass shock tower will make it always run when the key is on.

the AFM has a switch to turn the pump on when the car is running. so if the pump won't stay on after the car starts without the jumper. it could be the AFM or AFM wiring.

have you read out the AFM contacts and compared the results to the FSM, page 4-54 or so ('88)...done a compression check?

havent check the afm contacts yet, but i definately will, compression seemed good. i was having a problem with the gauge the type i have i couldnt get to seal tight in the plug holes but the car was running fine. it broke when i was going down the highway. stepped on gas and the car deccelerated. pulled over and it wanted to die. we had no voltage on fuel pump, lines where completely dry but plenty of gas in tank. i jumped power to the pump from my amp wiring and it started with just a little fuss but idled rough and wanted to die.

jumper out the check connector that Scott refered to, if it runs normal again after that, the switch in the AFM is probably bad...just don't drive around too long with the connector jumpered- it's for safety in the event of collision

is the switch going out a common problem? and if so will it also cause a poor idle and prevent the fuel system from priming properly even if the fuel pump is receiving voltage from somewhere else?? i am trying to narrow down possibilities for error. later today i will test the maf and go from there. thanks to all.

okay tested the afm as per fsm and it all tests okay. any other ideas? could the pump possibly be bad and/or the fuel pump relay and resistor? or possibly the pressure regulator cause i cant get the fuel system to prime, and i fugure it wont run right because of insufficient fuel pressure. dont see any leaks though? the fuel filter is new with like 1000 miles or less so i dont suspect that. please help it is finally nice here in wisconsin and i cant enjoy my toy!
