need some advice on my turbo vert...ecu/fuel questions

i am in the process of putting a streetported s5 t2 motor into my 90 vert. i do not want to install a standalone as i already have a built t2 with one. i am not wanting to push crazy power out of this car, just a fun weekend cruiser.

here's what i have so far:
streetported s5 t2 long block
act clutch/pp
n370 ecu/afm/map sensor
walbro
rewired s5 na engine harness
cleaned/flow tested 550cc & 1600cc injectors
t2 driveline
bnr stage 2 hybrid
corksport 3inch turboback exhaust
aeromotive fpr

basically what i want to know is if a rtek is safe to run this turbo with 500/720cc injectors on 12-14lbs of boost. i dont want to wait for the 2.0 version to come out because i dont think it will be out until the summer. i basically want to drop everything in and go. i dont want to have to tune this car. is this enough fuel?

or should i keep the 1600's and use a safc to fine tune everything?

if i could safely use the 1.7 rtek and 720's that would be great so i dont have to spend the few hundred dollars on a wideband and the safc. is anyone else running a similar set up? thanks in advance.

With the stock tmic, limit boost to 10 psi. Fmic, you should be fine. 1.7 rtek and 720's works well. That's what NJ Greenbudd uses on his iirc.

Your hybrid is a stage 2, which is an upgraded cold side , plus a port job on the stock wastegate iirc. Check with NJ Greenbudd on the forum. He is using a bnr hybrid (stage 2 I think) with rtek and 720s with no reported problems. I personally wouldn't use the stock tmic above 10 psi. It's not very efficient above that.

from his sig he is using:
Rtek7 2.1, BNR Stg 1 Hybrid, (4) 720cc

they dont have a 2.x chip out for the s5 t2 yet

My bad. I misread yours was s5. His is s4. As for running 500s and 720s, sounds like not enough fuel for 12-14 psi IMO. I would lean towards all 720s or 720/1000.

i also have a s5 turbo and want an rtek but cant seem to find anybody running it, im sure it will work but its nice to see results.

I would think that 550/720 would work. But yeah, the stock top mount is bad.

Hmmm... rtek 1.x + safc + injectors. maybe?

looks like im going to either go microtec or power fc...i don't wanna chance it.

since you have a BNR stage 2, 720/720 with Rtek 1.8 will work I think, as long as you've rewired the fuel pump. I think the guy who did 348ish with an Rtek 2.1 had 720/720 , search the dyno sheets subforum. I would NOT use 1680's with anything but a full standalone due to the injector staging issues.

they dont make the 2.x for s5's...not yet anyway.

I was wondering the same thing while doing my build over summer. I was considering using a BNR stage 1 w/ 4x720s and a Rtek 2.0/2.1 like NJgreenbudd, or even 720/1000 with fuel adjustments. From what I can tell from digging through posts, the low 300 rwhp range is about the limit of four 720s, so a 1.8 should work too, but you'll be limited to only boost control to tune it.

If I were to run a hybrid of any sort with a 1.7 & 550/720s, I'd be keeping it around maybe 8psi until I was damn sure the AFRs were still in the 10s-11s.

i just sold my n370 ecu so it looks like ill be going with the powerfc and 550/1600's for now

Good luck and post back with results. It's always a good thing to see what injector combinations and ECUs work for diiferent setups.
