Just get new gaskets for the oem oil return tube. Done.
|
Yeah the gaskets are brand new so there's that
|
yea... I had brand new gaskets. They leaked anyway. I think they just kinda suck...
Then again, I'm still re-using them because making aftermarket lines is a pain so... choose the lesser of 2 evils imo |
Did you coat both sides of the gasket in RTV? For some dumb reason almost every if not every gasket on the rx7 isnt self sealing and needs to have a skim coat of rtv on them.
|
yup iv decided to just take the time to order stuff this week and put them together this weekend.
|
the surface can get warped sometimes.
A small layer of rtv on both sides of the gasket fixes up a slightly warped surface pretty good. If you are leaking oil from the turbo side, it can leak through the turbine side and drip down the turbine housing. |
Yea, that was with RTV and a gasket. It seams pointless to have a gasket at all if you need to put RTV on it for it to work. Isn't that what the gasket is supposed to be doing?
maybe the RTV I used was crappy, because my oil pan leaked too and I used the same stuff on it. I'm gonna use silicone next time I think |
copper rtv also gonna use my oil leak as a flimsy pretext to get a new turbo lol.
|
Good luck ordering from Himni if you want a quick turn around.
