I need ss oil feed and return lines. found a feed line from himni but cant find a return line im leaking oil from somewhere and wanna rule things out. i figure well if im doing that i might as well upgrade. i know there is a writeup to make my own but dont have allot of free time. any links or info would be great but i cant find anything on the return line.

Just get new gaskets for the oem oil return tube. Done.

DRFT_HRD 09-30-11 02:23 PM

Yeah the gaskets are brand new so there's that

Osirus9 09-30-11 02:47 PM

yea... I had brand new gaskets. They leaked anyway. I think they just kinda suck...

Then again, I'm still re-using them because making aftermarket lines is a pain so...

choose the lesser of 2 evils imo

Did you coat both sides of the gasket in RTV? For some dumb reason almost every if not every gasket on the rx7 isnt self sealing and needs to have a skim coat of rtv on them.

DRFT_HRD 10-04-11 12:50 AM

yup iv decided to just take the time to order stuff this week and put them together this weekend.

the surface can get warped sometimes.
A small layer of rtv on both sides of the gasket fixes up a slightly warped surface pretty good.

If you are leaking oil from the turbo side, it can leak through the turbine side and drip down the turbine housing.

Osirus9 10-04-11 03:03 PM

Yea, that was with RTV and a gasket. It seams pointless to have a gasket at all if you need to put RTV on it for it to work. Isn't that what the gasket is supposed to be doing?

maybe the RTV I used was crappy, because my oil pan leaked too and I used the same stuff on it. I'm gonna use silicone next time I think

DRFT_HRD 10-11-11 11:22 PM

copper rtv also gonna use my oil leak as a flimsy pretext to get a new turbo lol.

Good luck ordering from Himni if you want a quick turn around.
