Need an internal wastegate source

I have found a few nice t3/to4e turbos for my Turbo II but they all do not come with the internal wastegate or the actuator. I am sure I can use my actuator but I dont think that the wastegate set up would fit. Any other second gen owners out there that had the same problem but then found a source/solution?

Hey,

Are you the same guy I was bidding against for that turbo kit on ebay?
Was just wondering because the name was the same.

uh..yeah..that was me..do you like the turbo?....I could have BIN'd the turbo for $600 but I am a gambling man and lost...so...no one can help me with my wastwegate source?

compuskills 02-17-05 01:12 PM

Yeah I think it was a great buy. I am glad that you are a gambling man because I was only bidding $615 max and the bid increments were $10. Not only that but he got it to me in only 3 days from Japan. I don't have any proof and am not an expert but im pretty sure that it is an HKS sports kit. As for internal wastegates I was going to go the hybrid route but think this was better as it bolts up to all the stock pieces.

The turbo you're looking at would have to come with an internal wastegate, it's part of the hotside of the turbo (just where the exhaust pipe bolts to it).

I suppose you could make one fit, but it would be messy. You're best bet is to either swap the hot side with the stock hotside (make your own hybrid), having someone else do it, or going for an external wastegate setup.

just get an external wastegate.

the turbos have the internal wastegate set up...but without the actuator and flapper(door)
here is a pic

Might be awhile as the TII is still in storage and plus for what ever reason I am currently putting on the S5 turbo and manifold I bought from Rotary Works just so that when I sell it I can state for sure that it works.

and external is not an option...i woudl need a new manifild and wastegate along with the turbo and then i am in the thousands of $$

Parastie 02-17-05 06:24 PM

Hmm...i'm not certain. You should try to contact the owner and ask them.

Nice vert by the way.
This is what the sports turbo looks like for the wastegate.
I don't think it would be too easy to get a backing plate with the wastegate built in.
Best you consider the hybrid if you don't want to go external or wait for another sports kit from ebay.

Have you had a look at the turbo's on turbocalculator.com
They have full kits for what seem to be reasonable prices
There's a couple more out there like them, but I don't know all the url's by heart.
