need help on more mods

i have a 88 turbo II it currently has, intake, full racing beat exhaust, apexi afc, racing beat pulleys, fd fuel pump, 720cc injectors, apexi bov, 8.5 flywheel and it is boosting a 9psi. i wanted to get a little more horsepower but i dont want it to hurt the engine life that much. i dont have the money for front mount intercooler, ecu or turbo. do you guys have any suggestions on more parts i can add to get a little more horsepower. any suggestions are nice. thanks

I presume you've ported the living daylights out of the wastgate to be able to keep boost that low. You don't list a FCD, so you're probably boosting slightly less than 9psi if you're not hitting fuel cut (~8.6psi). If you want to go any further you'll need one. Without touching the intercooler or turbo you're limited to 10-11psi unless you want to compromise reliability.

If you're reasonably handy, a decent FMIC can be had for a fraction of the price of a flash Japanese kit by using a bigger IC from another car and fabbing the pipes.

Concentrate on the little things that improve efficiency. A good cold air intake will make a noticable difference for example. I presume you had the S-AFC dyno-tuned. If not there's some power to be found there from leaning out the rich factory mixtures that'll be even richer with those injectors. :)

get a 3" TID. FCD, boost controller and raise it up to 11-12psi. it should be good with the 720's, pump, and S-afc.

just make sure you tune the S-afc using a wide band o2. on a dyno is good.

Dude... something is fishy... is that the racing beat exhaust with the street legal cat on it??? cause you should be hitting 11-12 PSI with a RB full exhaust.... If it has a cat, the next step is to remove it and rip out the air pump!!

Make yourself a cold air box. what i did was make a three sided box, the rear of which has a hole in it for the MAF to bolt to and then the filter bolts on inside the box. Then there is a plate on the botom and one up the side next to the radiator. the back and the side are almost as high as the hood, then it is sealed off to the hood with 2"x2" foam. That will keep the hot engine air from getting into your intake and give you more HP.

Then you either need to make ductwork to run from under the bumper to the box, or buy/make a fresh air headlight cover. I made mine so that it is dished down in the front and up in the back, making a mini scoop of sorts. Works very well.

Other than that, you will have to shell out some cash for HP... no way around it. Its better to wait to you have the money and buy the right stuff than try and "Make DO" with junk and tricks. tehre are ways to make HP cheaply, sadly, most will puke your motor rather quickly

well i have had the afc dyno tuned. the full racing beat exhaust is the old version. not the 3 inch so it doesnt raise the boost it puts about about 9.5 boost so thanks for the input though helps a lot.
