Need HELP!!! Get a error code 09
 

I got a code 09 a couple weeks ago and so I pulled my thermo sensor and got a brand new one, installed it today and I still get a code 09 out of the system. Anyone have any ideas?

Please any help would be much appreciated, since I can't get the idle adjusted proper till this is resolved I would assume.

You shouldn't have bought a new sensor until you knew what the fault was. The error code doesn't mean "bad sensor", it means "bad signal from the sensor". This can be a bad sensor but it can also be from a loose or dirty electrical connector or a broken wire. Check the sensor has the correct resistance across it's terminals (2-3k-ohms at room temp). Make sure the connector terminals are clean and make good contact. Use a DMM to check from continuity between the G/W wire and ECU pin 2E and between the BR/B wire and ground.

If you're getting a code then the ECU is ignoring the sensor and defaulting to a coolant temp of 176degF. This onlt causes a probelm when the engine's cold, so setting the warm idle should be no problem. :)

yeah I got that now, but is ok I get most of my parts at about wholesale or roughly above so is all good. $31 for a new sensor and I do all my own work so is not bad. It turned out to be the female connection on the wire had been pulled into the connection and just need to be fished out, once I did that and connected it then she fired up to a little over 3000 rpms for a few seconds and dropped to 1600 or so to complete the cold start process.
