Need Help! Energy Suspention Bushing Install!
 

Hey Guys,

I'm having a little trouble with the istallation of my Energy Suspention bushings, wodering if anyone knew of a guide, or how to or something? I've been searching around forever and couldn't find anything.

You take out the old ones and put in the new ones. Make sure to match your old ones to do ones you're putting it.

It's just the same as any bushing replacement.

Thanks Jager, for being the only one who even care to say anything, though that wasn't my question. I wanted to know if anyone had a write-up on it. I wanted to know things like how other people did it, did they burn the bushings out? Did they have to take off the subframe? What worked for them...

If anyone has what I'm asking for that'd be great, otherwise I'll keep searching...

If you got the master kit, goodluck!! I ended up paying my shop to do it when the gave my suspension a new setup!! took them 4 hrs. total to do the bushings, new shocks, and new springs. They told me this car was a pain in the ass due to the fact there is sooo many bushing under this car to replace. Only cost me 350 for the completion of the total job(the whole suspension/bushings), which I thought it was worth it. No theres no diagram or anything to follow, just gotta get under there and see where they all are. Goodluck!!

Hey Seventh, I was planning on doing this myself also (sometime soon) and when I looked under the car I got a little hesitant. There are alot of bushings that you need to replace. Now I am thinking of just getting the parts (new bushings and suspension parts) and letting a mechanic replace everything for me. This way the alignment can be set properly without me having to drive it anywhere unadjusted.

If you do replace them yourself you should take alot of pictures and make a writeup about it.

Thats what I did bought everything from the bushings, shocks, and springs and had a shop do it. My shop only charged me for the labor. I looked under there too and said im not gonna deal with it, let someone else do it right. From what my shop said you need a bench pressure along with various other tools to do these bushings. I mean they are about 20 years old you know. BTW they also included the alignment in my 350 price.

without a press it is going to take a good while to do, the instruction manual gives the same instructions any of us could provide. what is so confusing about the process?

A shit load of 20 year old rubber and without the right tools it will take forever.

Instruction Manual? I didn't get one of those... Unless you're talking about the FSM?

Well, I did the Control Links and Sway Bar bushings real easily, wasn't hard, then I ran into the problem of having to lower/remove the Subframe to get the Trailing Links to a point where you can access the bushings. So I got that figuered out and now I was just having trouble trying to get the bushings out, I was using a blow torch at first but didn't really like doing that when it was still under the car. Since I'm doing DTSS ellimination at the same time I was just going to remove it after taking the Carrier off. Currently, I was trying to find out if, on the Axle Nut you're supposed to unbend the indent made into the axle... I would assume so, just wasn't sure.

Anyway, I can see why somebody would pay a mechanic to do this, however I'm determined not to. I'm pretty sure I can do it. How long it takes is the real question.....
