need help in buying wideband o2 sensor
well im going to be investing in a wideband o2 sensor and i need some help. what am i going to get for around 350-400 bucks, i want the best for the best price.
any vetrans wanna lemme in on what there using? thanks |

instead of starting a new thread cause i know how much people hate that, i'll continue this one.
i was researching (searching google/froogle for 5 minutes constitutes as research) widebands and was wondering what people's preferences were. i found: AEM UEGO: $349.99 (usually over $400) http://store.yahoo.com/sgpracing-store/aemuewiafmo.html PLX M300: $315.99 http://www.urdusa.com/Merchant2/merc...gory_Code=PERF there's another one, too. i believe HAILERS has it. i couldn't find it, though. i just remember it being a little box (almost cubed shaped) with big red numbers. any WIDEBAND O2 FAVORITES? |
Are you using the wideband for tuning? If you are, it's much more helpful to find a wideband which will datalog AFR's in reference to RPM, pressure, EGT, etc. Wideband's that only show a reading and have no ability to datalog AFR's in reference to those mentioned above are pretty much only good for making sure your AFR's are fine at all times, but are harder to tune with.

Are the techedges below $400 now? Last i checked everything ran about 450+ with the display/etc. I use the Techedge w/display and it's great.

I tune with the TechEdge 2a0, the 2a0 has a rpm input, 3 extra analog inputs, and 3 thermocouple inputs for EGT probes. It is a very nice unit and the price is not that bad, you can also go the DIY kit route to save some money.
I also have one of those Bosch sensors most of the controllers use (including the techedge) up on ebay right now, it's new: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7937862796 If you have a standalone you likely have a input for a O2 sensor, the 2a0 puts out a simulated 0-1v voltage for connecting to a input expecting a 0-1v o2 sensor.... this is one way to get the wbo2's datalogged with your standalone's engine data. Another way is to have software that supports both the 2a0 and your standalone, then have it multiplex them and log all the inputs to a single place. This is how mine is setup (e6k and 2a0, 2 serial ports, one laptop, custom software soon to be available to the public). |

A bung for the O2 sensor?
Get a bit of thick wall pipe or hollow bar depending on what your exhaust is made out of and how big it is, drill and tap a thread into the inside of it.. Weld it in, hey presto, you have a bung.. :) |
most good quality kits come with a bung... like the aem

a bung is a bung.. lol.
even if you dont get one with the kit, they are a dime a dozen @ a local exhaust shop. i got mine welded in for 20$ canadian hats including the bung |
