need help ASAP! Gotta get the RX7 on the ROAD!

well ok here's my dilema, i just recently got a 86 na 5spd rx7 is amazing condition, only downside was it wasnt saftied and needed a few minor things like brakes, tires, washer pump, and the problem the horn..... So my problem is i've tried everything to get the horn to work and with no luck, i think it's the horn relay in the ECU but i dont even want to get into that since my safty appointment is tomorow! So is there anyway i can bypass the ECU and get the horn to work? i only need it to work for safty then later on ill get into the ecu and fix it proper, but what else could i do to get the horn to work???

Yep, its the ECU, gotta redo the connection for it to work properly. I had the same problem and needed to get my car checked so this is what I did (I highy dont recommend this actually and take no responsibility for any shorts, fires, fried ECU's etc...) Being the self proclaimed back yard mechanic that I am I just wired the horn to a switch inside the car, I used the window switch at the time because the windows wern't working anyways  . Its been a while since I did it but if I remember correctly you need a 12V to the switch and the other wire going to the tab on the horn. I'm pretty sure you gotta disconnect the connector on the horn or it wont work.

yes but im not sure if the horn has to be on the steering wheel or can it be a push button like you mentioned? anyone know anything about safty's :)

Over here they let you honk the horn, turn on the lights etc. I just kept my hand on the window switch and pretended to hit the steering wheel when he said hit the horn :). The second time (ok so I did it twice) the guy said "as long as she beeps"
