Need expert electrical help!!!

I have a 88 TII and the car wont turn off. I recently had the alternator replaced and I can take the key out of the ignition and the car stays running. The only way to turn it off is to stall it.

Anyone have a guess on whats the problem?

Could be the electrical part of your ignition switch.

It sounds like your ignition switch is screwed up. It is the part of the car that cuts everything to your engine.

If I were you, I would just wire up my fuel pump to a toggle switch (a toggle switch with a safety cover please). That will allow you to prevent flooding, give you a little extra security, and shut off your car without having to replace the ignition switch. But you could just replace the ignition switch if you have had no problems with flooding.

The alt maybe wired wrong. did you get the proper alt for your series and model, or did you "upgrade"?

I really doubt its the ignition switch if it started happening when you had/put the new alt in.
