Need an exhaust expert...
Okay my 88 GXL has a major exhaust leak....I want to buy a new exhaust system. But there are way too many. I have a guy that I have bought parts from who says he can get me the APEXi N1 dual exhaust for 620, good deal??? I didnt think so...2 questions....
1. What is the best sounding and performing after market exhaust available for right around $700??? 2. Will I need diff. gaskets than the stock ones for a new exhaust system?? Cause I want to get this over with Any suggestions??? |
you should be provided with new gaskets when you buy a system
Okay thats kewl Ive never heard that but if its true than I only have to buy a gasket for the manifold, anyone else hear that as well?
if you buy a header you should be given a gasket for the manifold as well. I dont think any brand new exhaust wont come with an exhaust gasket
i say go for the corksport. Cheap, sounds good (IMO).
i have a corksport cat back, racing beat downpipe, and a borlaxr1 as a mid pipe on my 88 gxl , sounds awsome especially when you put the throttle to the floor
about how much did all that cost you?
corksport catback $350 with shipping, rb downpipe bout $200 and a borla xr1 as a mid pipe $125, remember exhaust is the first thing you want to do to a rotary to get true power.
yes i know, and thats why Im doing it...Thanx much I think ill have to run the same set-up :)
As a mid pipe??? I found a system for $500..Ill keep looking to see what else I can find
be forewarned, corksport is very loud. apexi dual N1s, sound very good, also very loud. any way you slice it, your car is going to be loud as shit with a header, straight pipe and straight through mufflers.
but it will sound good ;) my car has true dual exhaust with obx-r mufflers, very loud, sounds very unusual, but i like it. my friend has an S5 with racing beat header and had a presilencer, but now is a cat, and dual N1s. its loud, but sounds great. |
On my N/A I ran the RB header and pre-silencer with the dual N1 catback. She sounded mean and was quite possibly one of the loudest street cars I had heard. I loved it. Got the N1's on my TII now. Woo hoo.
