Need advice and help!!! Involving tranny

Ok to make things short. I put a new clutch and pp in my car about 3 months ago. About 4 days after i replaced the clutch my tranny locked up in gear. Now its locked in gear but i can still shift. Some places it gets a little tough. When i let out of the clutch the car dies. No matter what gear i put it in. Will only run with clutch pushed in

Now when i went to check the tranny fluid it was bone dry. oouch :( So iam assuming the tranny went. B/c the car worked fine for those 4 days after clutch install. it shifted perfect. What else could it be? I can get a used tranny for around 250 but i would be so mad and heated if i replaced it and the car still dose not work. Is there some thing else that could make this happen??

Thanks for your help.

That's a rip-off for an N\A tranny IMO

I spent $90 on my tranny, and it only had 45,000 miles on it.

ya i know. its from the shop who rebuilt my engine. mazsport. do you have a place where i can find one. also do you think its the tranny

Sorry, I can't offer you any concrete advice.

I don't know the symptoms of a tranny that's locked up because of no tranny fluid. I'm guessing it overheated, expanded, spider gears (or whatever :)) locked up and now it's not really able to move any of the inner workings and shift. Either way, wait for a rotary guru.

I'd try a "Want to buy" posting in the for sale section to find a local tranny. Put a link to it in your signature. Postwhore in your local area section :)

I've never been to a junkyard - maybe that's another option for you?

So your transmission had no oil in it and you're wondering why it's broken?

Well if you acctually read my post you would have not posted that comment above. Not one time in my orig post did i wonder why it broke. Iam trying to figure out if its the tranny that went.

B/c as crazy as it sounds the tranny could be fine even with out oil. now of course its not good that it was empty but i just did some work on it 4 days before it went. so i was wondering if it has anything to do with the clutch install/pp or is this just a coninsendce.

thx smart guy.
sorry but that was a supid question to me.
