NA flywheel on T2

I read at

http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...in_differ.html

"
A turbo flywheel of the same year as a nonturbo flywheel will be balanced the same, meaning it can be bolted to any engine of that same year. For instance, an 87-88 turbo flywheel is a direct bolt onto an 86-88 nonturbo engine block, because balance is the same.

and

Turbo flywheels weigh more than the smaller nonturbo counterpart, even though balance is the same.
"

So I would want to put my 88 NA flywheel on my 88 turbo car swap? (I converting my 88 gtu to 88 t2) Although im sure the performance difference is small, its closer to an aftermarket lightweight flywheel than stock... :)

im pretty sure if you're using the turbo tranny you need the turbo flywheel

hmmm ya Im using T2 EVERYTHING, rear, tranny, engine driveshaft, and so on... a full t2 swap. Dang was hoping to get a little light flywheel sensation :P

The difference would be the spline count on a TII clutch disk.. TII's are 23 spline, NA's are 22... So you'd have to find a clutch disk in the right diameter with the right spline count.
