NA converting to T2, Exhausts que.
 

I have an 87 NA and putting in a JDM 87 T2 motor in it.
I have a stock NA Exhausts. What do i need to do for the t2 engine to match up??
Think i need tubo downpipe and midpipe. is that it?
Can i just use the rest of my NA Exhausts??

yeah, I ran a racing beat 2.5" downpipe to the rest of my old NA exhust, it fit perfect.

the N/A exhaust will bolt right up and work fine, but you won't get full boost until you upgrade (which is probably a good thing if you have not rebuilt the Jspec).

I have an 88 TII, when I sold my 89 GTU with a racing beat exhaust.... the Racing Beat Cat-back Exhaust for the NA bolted right up to the factory cat in the TII.. an added bonus of this setup is that, since the N/A exhaust is a bit smaller on the inside of the cans.. I'm not getting the boost creep i expected since i added the RB downpipe and presilencer combo.. With the TII RB catback... my buddy had to jump through all sorts of hoops in his 87 to keep the boost from hitting over 10Lbs, finally he had to get a Stage 1 Turbo Kit and do some other mods to keep it safe.. With the N/A rear section... I only see about 9-10 lbs or so under full load, which is nice, seing as I'm not quite ready for a rebuild.

Racing Beat is hte way to go, whatever you do.. can't beat the quality of thier parts.

How many miles are on the chassis? If the exhausts are showing signs of wear of leaking you might consider gettings new mufflers. Not sure if your mufflers in their current condition could withstand the heat of the turbo for long.

turbo exhausts are cooler than N/A exhausts...
