N/A turbo engine
Hi.. I'm kind of new to this forum. Anyways a friend of mine wants to sell me an aftermarket turbo 20 psi, but my s5 fc is n/a, so could an N/A engine be turbo charge?

simple answer yes... real answer... not with out spending tons of money to keep it from blowing up(and thats goes for piston engines too)

wow.. about how much.. ? so I gess is easier and cheaper to get a t2 engine.

A turbo is not set at a given boost ratio (unless its waste gated that way...) and you don't have "a x psi turbo".
You should take the time to learn to read compressor maps, it will really help out down the road in telling one turbo from another. |

Furthermore, you will need to get a piggyback or standalone EMS for a NA engine running on a turbo unless you enjoy blowing it up. Rotaries especially require careful tuning to avoid pinging due to the nature of the beast: apex seals. Defang it and you got nothing except a noise maker. If you're willing to rig up alcohol injection, use alcohol as fuel or race fuel, then going NA-Turbo might be a better idea. Otherwise you have to be conservative with how you set everything up, use a good intercooler, use conservative timing and air-fuel ratios and not push the motor very hard. |
