n/a -> turbo counterweight
are they the same?! the flywheels are different OD and weights, but the rotors are the same weight.
they DO have different part numbers. could using an N/A on a turbo motor/flywheel cause vibration? |
they are the same. they DO NOT have different part numbers
|
crap, was going by the mazdatrix part numbers. my imbalance must lie elsewhere then.

ah..heres one thing i noticed tho, i may have a GSL-SE rear counterweight which does posses a different part number.
however i used that counterweight on this motor before with NO vibration problems. the only things changed are from an N/A rb flywheel to a turbo ACT flywheel, as well as a mystery clutch disk and JDM transmission. it vibrates with the clutch IN or in neutral OR in gear. and only over 6,000rpm. :edit: http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/Rcounterweights.htm are the numbers the actual weights of the counterweights? if i do in fact have an older 13B weight, how come i didnt have a vibration with the other flywheel/clutch/trans setup? |
did more digging, the older 13b does indeed have heavier rotors, sent an email to mazdatrix to see if they have on record which weight i purchased a while back.
HOPEFULLY thats what it is! (still dreading dropping the trans..lol) |
on a hunch went and took off the clutch fan, vibration still there :[ so now i wait and find out if its my mistake or a parts mistake.
