N/A S5, hesitating problem, code 27 found, what's it mean?

Ok folks, need some help here!

Bought my S5 a few months ago, car is completely stock. The car has since developed a running problem. Anytime the car is under load, it hesitates, and basically has no power and goes nowhere. Again, only under decent load. I can still pussy foot it around town...but it's not really fun or safe, either.

We ran the codes with a Snap-On scanner, and it gave us code 27, which is:

"Step motor - metering oil pump (88-91)"

What the hell does this mean?

Thanks in advance!

Stepping Motor = OMP = oil metering pump.

From what I've read (never had a failure) when the OMP fails it can take out the ECU.

Check the FSM.

Kinda bad for a 3 year old member.

Is there a link to the FSM?

a try teamfc3s.com or search for FSM maybe Factory Service Manual, or just goto the sticky at the top of the section labeled FAQ, that has links to FSM's in it

yes. As a noobie you should have checked the FAQs before making any posts. The information you'll need in order to begin doing your own research can be found there (look at post #8 in the FAQs for FSM. I've posted this about 10 times in the last 4 days.)

After reading the FAQs you should begin researching (kinda like doing a book report but instead of a boring book, you're learning to fix your car.) by searching the entire forum. I'm 98% sure almost any problem you have/will have has been covered before.

A quick search would have yielded the answer I gave you but much faster.

EDIT: dude, WTF???? you're not even a noob!

WOW that has got to go into a signature... ROFL

I'm not on here a lot anymore, and the FC is new to me. I found the info., hopefully I can fix this car.

if you run into a wall/get stuck just post in this thread again.
