n/a s4 fc3s pricing.

Curious how much people payed for their FCs'.

found a clean 86 sport and am looking to make an offer, not sure how much to offer without over-doing it, but at the same time not lowballing him and causing friction.

Thanks! Really hope to truely join the forums when i get a car!

i paid $1800 for my 88 SE 6months ago with 140k, and i thought i got a good deal. interior is almost perfect except some little carpet stains and drivers seat upholstery is splitting, exterior has lots of dings, and front bumper was cracked by the brake vent on drivers side.

My5ABaby 11-10-06 07:06 AM

$1600 with 120,000 miles on it. Had a couple dings and a rust spot on the drivers rear quarter-panel.

CrossfireCurt 11-10-06 08:52 AM

$3,500 for an 88 S4 in perfect condition, no problems, 26k miles.

ramz28 11-10-06 08:53 AM

2000 88 coupe few stains on carpet, interior perfect otherwise. body small dent on fender and lil rust on 1/4

RoughRex 11-10-06 10:42 AM

$930 for '88 GXL Several dings in body with recent but piss poor paint job. Rough interior and 187k on the clock. No rust though :)

wthdidusay82 11-10-06 01:49 PM

s4 na base model 146,000 miles $1000 with a blown motor (coolant seals) , clean interior/exterior , only rust on wheelwheel and sunroof, some bubbling on front windshield now ( 2 years later), also bad wiring (replaced all wiring harnesses)

invested about $5000 into fixing it up

VacavilleFC 11-10-06 01:54 PM

yeah mines got a horrible re-paint job too it's flaking around all the trim cause they just taped it off and didn't remove it

RotaryEvolution 11-10-06 02:14 PM

can't sell my '88 SE for $1200 for the life of me and i have gone through most of the car. everyone has their price that they feel comfortable paying i suppose and the market seems to be at a low point right now.

Akota 11-10-06 02:20 PM

$700 for 87.. Outside has very few dings, hood is a little bent, front bumper needs a little bit of work. Engine has 112k Miles on it, runs perfect, Interior is in need of a drivers side seat and a few minor things. Everything works in it, AC needs to be recharged, and it needs a new Rear Passenger Side Caliper.

boricuarx7 11-10-06 02:24 PM

paid $600. for my '86 n/a..was sitting for@1 year and would not start for owner...i did some quick quessing and checked the fuel pump, replaced it for $60.(@5 years ago) and had it running good for @ 1 year before engine lost compression. ( I've been thru 2 used engine swaps) now I'am having it streetported and carb'd.... body work is fine..just waiting on the rebuild and suspension upgrade to cruise with the club.

GodSquadMandrake 11-10-06 02:26 PM

$5,500

raptor22 11-10-06 02:33 PM

$3500 with new tires, OZ rims, newly rebuilt and streetported engine, K&N cone filter, 1 yr old performance suspension, new radiator...etc.

174 on the clock, though, and it needs paint.

I just got mine today man. He pulled up about an hr ago and the titled was signed and the deal made. When I first saw it, I didn't think much on it. But now, DAMN MAN I am glad I bought the bitch. The inside looks pretty shitty though, but I don't care. All I need is a seat. XD

s5tiifc3s 11-10-06 07:14 PM

hahaha congrats man. how much'd u pay? sorry. if i missed ur post earlier.

Damn everyone seems to be getting good deals! AHHHH i hope he doesn't try to gauge me with the price!

rb7431 11-10-06 07:27 PM

I got my 1990 base model for $250 needed paint but ran and drove great. Only problem was it was an automatic but im in the process of putting a manual in right now.

bigdaddyp 11-10-06 07:38 PM

I paid $2400 for mine. Bought it off a guy on ebay, he ended the auction early for $2400. It is an 86 GXL, was bone stock, great condition, maintinance records, paint needed a good waxing. Now it is for sale, check out the 2nd gen FS section.

Healing 11-11-06 12:49 AM

I've noticed up here, you're probably going to pay more for an FC than compared to everyone else in the rest of the country...I paid $3250 for me 88 SE with 71k on the odo, clean as hell.

If everything checks out, I think ~ $3k should be sufficient. I would not go any higher - even if its the sport model, which is really nice, it's still an N/A...and its not really worth the trouble eventually when you're going to want more power. If the car is clean and everything checks out, go for it. Gotta be careful especially if its had a repaint and such...

s5tiifc3s 11-11-06 06:04 AM

ok great thanks so much healing. i really appreciate your tip.

really crossing my fingers that this goes through. thanks!

arghx 11-11-06 08:27 AM

Unless you really like projects, don't settle for a cheapo nightmare car.

s5tiifc3s 11-11-06 11:55 AM

yea. totally. thats why i was curious how much people were paying, b/c i know u can get a project for under a grand, but i'm looking for a.. weekend car, so i thought i'd see how much daily driver ppl paid for their rides.

thanks.

Cpt.Zanzibar 11-11-06 12:02 PM

well for, dent on the hood where it meets the bumper, small rust on the passengers side rear quarter panel, broken radio surround(i glued it back together), drivers side seat upholstery split, and i had to put a new starter in, but i knew that going into the deal. i paid $1250, i feel bad looking back on it now. he got skeeted. oh and it had 138k miles on the car, and the engine was new swapped by mazda with only 20k on it when i bought it.

s5tiifc3s 11-11-06 12:05 PM

damn man. that sounds like a much better deal than i'll be getting. but in all honest, as long as the cars in good shape, no big accidents, rust, i'm happy for up to like 2500. but damn. good stuff.

Cpt.Zanzibar 11-11-06 12:11 PM

when you buy these cars its a real gamble(i know from my sister when she got hers). hers was in amazing condition inside and out but problem after problem kept sneaking up on her. mine on the other hand ive had for a year now. we thought it was gonna be the one that was gonna shit out on me. hardly any problems, at least none that i couldnt fix in an hour. just go over the car as well as you can. scrutinize every detail to get the price to come down. and if you realy want the car have the cash on you when you go to look at the car, then the seller knows you mean business.

Tyblat 11-11-06 01:05 PM

I paid $2,000 USD for mine. Mint condition GXL with the original owners manual, original factory key, and original window sticker from the dealer, as well as a documented record of its past history, and I'm the third owner.

I love my car =)

140k on her, and she's running strong!

mikaz 11-11-06 01:34 PM

3500 for an 87 GXL. ~60K, minimal rust (mostly sunroof) with brand new hankook sport tires, pineapple racing sleeves, MP3 deck, HKS intake, bonez downpipe presilencer and cat. The AAS even still works! :) Not bad i guess. These cars are so rare around here, I have only ever seen 3 other FC's in my life lol.

RotaryEvolution 11-11-06 02:00 PM

maybe i should sell my car in washington

s5tiifc3s 11-11-06 03:35 PM

hahahaha. evil!

s5tiifc3s 11-11-06 04:14 PM

looking to buy an 86' sport for 3200. guy lives 5 hours away. and is firm on the price.

carfax came back clean. has 79,000 miles. blown motor at around 50k. rebuilt. and run for the last 30k.

was repainted, selling said due to crappy original pain due to age.

also spoke of a changed hood due to theft? (who the hell steals hoods)?

but yea. wondering what people thought and if it's worth my time/money

thanks!

cbrinega 11-11-06 04:25 PM

For comparison's sake: I gave $2,000 USD several years ago for my 1990 GXL single owner with 139k miles on it (good paint, good engine, new clutch, new tires). It needed an exhaust, and I ended up putting new carpet in it too. I think it was a good deal given how reliable it has been (164k miles on it now without any major problems).

I'd expect to spend $1,500 to $3,000 for a decent N/A. A very good N/A with good mods is worth more in my eyes, but many people say they would just as soon buy a TII.

s5tiifc3s 11-11-06 04:45 PM

apparently prices are higher up north? hehe -_-;; i duno. thanks for the info though. preciate it cb.

raptor22 11-11-06 04:58 PM

Motor blown at 50K? I wonder what's up with that?

Maybe the car has been given a good thrashing?

s5tiifc3s 11-11-06 05:17 PM

yea now that you mention that. i'm kinda scared. i was hoping maybe it was just bad maintenance er something. but you're probably right.

s5tiifc3s 11-11-06 05:57 PM

Sorry if i spammed any1.

thanks!
