n/a fuel pump upgraded to a turbo 2?????
 

i have a spare t2 fuel pump. would putting it in my n/a make a difference. im thinkin if i should do it??? somebody pm me with some answeres please

It would cause a very slight reduction in power due to the richer mixtures. Maybe not enough to notice, but it won't be an improvement if that's what you were wondering.

I concur with NZConvertible.
There is a slight rise in fuel rail pressures, but the non-turbo already runs so damn rich that you will not normally feel any difference.

Running N/A FP in my TII vert, sucker is still running rich...

The TII pump flows more than the NA pump, by a non-trivial amount. The hardest place to maintain proper fuel pressure is at idle, because the engine is using the least amount of fuel. The TII pump, at full 12v output, flows slightly more than the fuel pressure regulator can handle. The TII uses a resistor pack to reduce the output of the pump at idle & low RPM - the NA has no such device.

As such, you'll run a bit rich(er) at idle unless you adjust for it somehow. You should be fine over the rest of the RPM range, but at low RPM you'll be dumping even more fuel in than normal, which won't keep the engine from running, but it would have a negative effect on emissions & fuel economy.

My TII fuel pump is sitting in one of my bins. If the NA pump goes out on me at some point, the TII pump will run the car well enough to get me home, and it was free. Unless you have fuel pressure issues at high RPM, I'd stay with the NA pump.
