Stop being a cry baby. You can't expect to give out incorrect info and not be called on it.

well NZ iis it at all possible my intake could cause my problems, because the stock airbox was loose only one bolt holding it in. the others were stripped, so i just took the top of it off yesterday and taped down the filter<<<<<<getto lol,

on another note, how many niles ie vaccum plugs are there on the engine for the air condioning and heating system because on the very bottom left side of the engine closest to the fire wall there is a nipple with a vaccum line on it but the line is cut at the niplple, is that anything important

fredster102 03-18-07 01:54 AM

you mean the two metal ones that sit one above and one below the other?

That won't have any effect other than raising the intake temp very slightly. Only leaks after the AFM cause problems.

Could be some kind of intermittant connection that works for a while then stops working , then works again.

My rx7 did this same thing before when I first got the motor started after rebuild, and the problem somehow fixed itself. It was actually a worse problem than yours though, the car would drive fine then all of a sudden not let you rev past 1500 rpm , making it nearly impossible to drive on the street, good thing I never drove far before it was fixed.

i was talking to my dad who knows alot about electronis he told me this can be fixed by regrounding the negative injector wire?

gotgrip666 03-21-07 04:57 PM

well i drove my car around all day yesterday and didnt cut out at all, it seems to be running real strong, im gonna give it a full tune up next week and put a cone filter on it

No offence to your Dad but he doesn't seem to know much about EFI. The injectors receive 12V from the main relay and a switched ground from the ECU. There is nothing to reground, and messing with any of the injector wires will cause nothing but trouble.

yeah i didnt think that was possible iether hes more into electronics then cars so that was just his guess , how long does it usually say it takes to reground the ECU, im probably gonna do that in the next few days
