My RX-7 Finally Hits The Road!!!!
Iv'e been waiting for this day for about.....4 years now. I bought this red 86 base model rx-7 wayyyyy upstate years ago with a blown T2 motor and pretty much everything else besides the front bumper you see....for a very very good price. After going through many other rx7s(which none every hit the road) I thought f-this im finishing this rx7 that has been in my fathers garage. The last rx-7 i bought was a gold 87 base model i was trying to sell here on the forum a few months ago. Time goes by and i say screw this im pulling the motor and putting it into my red rx7.(sold as a roller and made most my money back) Didnt take to long to do considering i work 45+ hours a week.
These are recent shots http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/w...a/100_0856.jpg http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/w...a/100_0857.jpg http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/w...a/100_0855.jpg These 3 pics are old http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/w...mazda/1000.jpg http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/w...zda/100000.jpg http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/w...da/1000000.jpg Shes sitting on stock cut springs with blues rear struts...doing suspension whenever i have the money. ALSO i had to shove the turn signals in the other spot because they wouldn't fit for sh*t in the proper spot....but hey, i like it that way. |
Sweet. good job man!
Whats the deal with the two colors on the front fenders? They both seem to change in the same spot.
that thing looks like riceee sorry
why bash it. sheesh.. Not my style either. The guy put some hard work to get it running.
Good job man. I can't decide if I like no mouldings or not......
I can't wait until mines done. Hasn't been as long as yours but still long enough for me! Going on 6 months, mostly from winter storage. |
love that rear wing....
Yea, what IS the deal with the fenders? Looks like possible putty over a weld or something. like you welded the front half of the fender on...?
Well, looking at the original pictures it looked like the front bumper/fenders had some serious issues and were seemlessly joined together, so I'm thinking he cut the fenders and welded them back up and that spot hasn't been cleaned up/finished yet, I wasn't sure if it was supposed to have that kind of look like those pealed metal kinda graphic things or what. If this is the case, looks to be a good job, they look to line up real well! Just need to tweak that front bumper some, bust out the fiberglass repair on the rear and get some paint on it!
It came with a molded hacked up stock front bumper. After removing the bumper the front part of the fender had tons of bondo on it. I had to cut the fender and weld a new piece on since the fenders are molded to the side skirt. I know shes ricey and what not but that will change over time. Thanks for the feed back so far.

looks good. I'd rock it.
