My ride.

This is what i've got. '91 Turbo II. Mazdaspeed shortshift kit, Bonez light steel flywheel, Bonez Street-Comp clutch, 4.30 Final drive, Bonez 2.5" TurboFlo Exhaust, Bonez 2.5" Hi-Flow cat, A'pex Dual N1 Cat-back, Bonez street comp intake, 17" O.Z. Superleggera 3 pc. wrapped with Nitto NT555 215/40ZR17 front, 245/40ZR17 back, dropped on H&R coilovers with eibach springs and ground control anti-sway bars front and rear. Also a street port with 3mm apex seals.

It's pretty quick. Pulled the quarter in 12.9@ 109 and I barely pushed it. It's my baby.

i was thinking of upgrading the turbo, but dont want lag, has anybody twin turboed?

Rotorific 10-25-02 12:28 PM

uh you seem to know what your doing with your car do you know anything about turbos???? just because your car is a 91 doesnt mean that you need to follow trend in 93 and go twin turbo there are plenty of turbo combinations that you could put together to suit your needs....

Look at any of the highest performance cars out there, they're single turbo because they can run more boost like that and produce less heat. Now, first thing you should do is upgrade from 2.5" exhaust to 3" turbo back. And yes an upgraded turbo is a good idea to lower E/Ts. I'm sorry I don't know crap about the RX-7 turbos, all I know is TD05 turbos and I haven't gotten into the RX-7 turbo as much because I don't own one :(

.....

12.9 with a stock turbo....your turbo won't last very long..

Thats a good time for the stock turbo....I would say thats very hard to achieve...but if you have the tires, suspension.....You can get 12.9 But the comment of "barely pushing it" is a little wierd....I don't think you can push it much farther without bigger turbo.

I would get your turbo rebuilt and put in a bigger compressor wheel. usually 600 dollars or so. A bigger compressor wheel with a front mount and a standalone ems with your setup should net you somewhere upwards of 325-375 rwhp.

Going the hybrid way won't net you the most horsepower but its cheaper and will give no more turbo lag than you have now.... I have a hybrid t04 h3 trim and with my boost controller set to 1 bar..... It spools up faster than my stock setup.
