My new project
 

Well, the tranny died on my AT, and the body wasn’t worth putting in all the work to convert it to a 5SP. Fortunately, I found an ’87.5 sport for $900. The interior is in bad shape, and it needs paint, but the body is strait, and I’ve got a parts car ready. I’ve already replaced all of the vacuum lines with silicon. (I bought 20ft, and have 2ft left!) I removed the sub-zero start assist, and swapped my old UIM in, because it has no holes. I also swapped over my freshly cleaned injectors, and replaced the oil cooler lines with stainless.

Next on my list is replace the tranny and diff oil, SS brake lines, SS clutch line, rebuild the clutch cylinders. Flush the clutch and brakes. Install a Mazdatrix short shift kit. Swap over my new shocks/struts and suspension pieces with new bushings, and swap over all the good interior pieces.

One cool thing I found out about the Automatic is that it had the aluminum hood on it.:bigthumb:

As a reccommendation, purchase new/factory rebuilt clutch hydraulic parts. Even the best rebuilds fail very suddenly... the clutch hydraulics tend to fail from corrosion of their bores, and it is extremely hard to rebore-them correctly.
