my HKS coilovers wont move! I cant adjust the perch. help
 

I bought a nice set of used HKS coilovers and all but one of them can be adjusted. I loosened the bottom collar and it freely spins down the shock body. I put a spring compressor on it to take a bit of pressure off the perch and soaked it in PB blaster.

I put the coilover wrench on it and hit it with a hammer, wont budge.
Took a plummers wrench to it, wont budge. What should I do?
Worst case would HKS so a somewhat affordable swap if I cant get it to move, this is baffling me, I am afraid to heat it up as to damage the seals and oil in the shock.

any advice would be aprreciated!

Check to make sure they don't use allen key locks as well as the double perch, (though I'm sure you would've noticed this already)

I would say buy a strap wrench. PB blaster wont do much on aluminum. Get all of the spring pressure off of the perch. An i would say try to move the ring down not up. Since some grit probably got in there from the top side. You could use some heat. Shocks will handle a lot of heat especially race ones. Proiblem is the aluminum will disperse the heat pretty quickly. So it migh not do much unless you take the shock off the car. Get it nice in cold in the freezer then put some very direct heat to the ring. Just my advice. Maybe next time put some anti gaul- sieze on there.

i will look into that strap wrench. This is my first time adjusting the coilovers I just bought them. I will def use ainti seize and have on the other I moved. Instead of taking if off the car and loosing leverage I will buy some dry ice and pack it around the shock.

it sucks because the coils are so tight together that I can only get one compressor on it.

oh and I was trying to take it down. it wont budge any way i try

any other ideas?

so pb blaster/wd 40 does nothing with alluminum?
